18th Bhadra, 2083: Certification and closing ceremony of 3 days residential Training Program on Procurement of Consulting Services organized for officials of various public institutions.

The Graduation Ceremony of Professional Course on Management and Development (PCMD 1 and PCMD 2 )was successfully held today at Kasthamandap Hall,Sampada Sadan.

PCMD-1 and PCMD-2 were the first and second cohorts of the fiscal year, respectively commenced on Shrawan 7, 2083 and successfully completed the 32-working-day professional development course on Bhadra 28,2083.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Lila Nath Sapkota, Course Coordinator, PCMD-1, and Ms. Ashma Bidari, Course Coordinator, PCMD-2.The ceremony marked the successful completion of the learning journey of 49 participants, with 25 participants from PCMD-1 and 24 participants from PCMD-2.

The ceremony was attended by the leadership team and faculty of NASC, along with the participants and other distinguished guests.

Closing Ceremony of Training on “Developing Competencies for Administrative Service Excellence (Dev-CASE)”
The closing ceremony of the fifteen days residential induction training on “Developing Competencies for Administrative Service Excellence (Dev-CASE) for newly appointed Survey Officers of Government of Nepal was conducted on 16 Bhadra 2083 at the Araniko Hall, Sampada Sadan, NASC.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Ms. Sangeeta B.C. highlighted the distinctive administrative components incorporated into the training. She particularly appreciated modules on civil service culture and professional etiquette, which she noted had enhanced the participants’ understanding beyond their technical responsibilities. She also provided feedback to NASC, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the professional bonds and camaraderie developed among participants during the training. Likewise, Mr. Manish Timilsina expressed his gratitude to NASC for providing the participants with the opportunity to enhance their administrative competencies.
Mr. Janak Raj Joshi, Executive Director, Land Management Training Centre (LMTC), highlighted the broader purpose of the training for survey officers. He emphasized that participants had not joined the programme merely to acquire knowledge, but to develop competencies that could be meaningfully applied in their workplaces. He stressed that knowledge and skills become valuable only when reflected in professional practice. He also described NASC as a place of motivation and encouraged the participants to translate their learning into improved performance and service delivery at their respective workplaces.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Trilochan Pokharel, Head of Department, Public Service Training Department (PSTD), thanked them for their appreciation and feedback. He emphasized NASC’s responsibility to preserve and further strengthen the goodwill it has earned through continuous effort. He noted that appreciation alone should not lead to complacency, as it could stagnate the processes of innovation and learning. Reflecting on the challenging circumstances and recent catastrophic events, he acknowledged that the future may be difficult for public officials and underscored the need for resilience and preparedness. He further emphasized that knowledge must be practical and hands-on, and that its effective application ultimately depends on individual commitment. He urged public officials to continuously reflect on how they can become more trustworthy to citizens and contribute to restoring the image and credibility of public service, which has been eroding over time.
Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel, Officiating Executive Director, NASC, distributed certificates of completion to the participants and congratulated them on successfully completing the training. He expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between NASC and LMTC, describing the programme as a landmark achievement for NASC. He emphasized that every individual possesses unique competencies and learning attitudes, and encouraged the participants to continue developing themselves through continuous learning and practice. Reaffirming NASC’s commitment to excellence, he highlighted the importance of “अभ्यास, अनुभव र अनुभूति” as the foundation for meaningful learning, professional growth, and excellence in public service.

Training Programme on Procurement of Consulting Services Begins

Nepal Administrative Staff College has commenced a three-day Training Programme on Procurement of Consulting Services, organized by the Center for Procurement Management under the Governance and Development Management Learning Group (GDMLG).

The opening session featured remarks from Mr. Yagya Prasad Dhungel, Center Head, Center for Procurement Management, and Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Department Head, GDMLG, who highlighted the importance of strengthening professional capacity in the transparent, efficient and accountable procurement and management of consulting services.

The training aims to enhance participants’ competencies in procurement procedures, preparation and evaluation of EoI and RFP documents, and consulting service contract management. Officials from public organizations are participating in the programme, which is being conducted from 16–18 Bhadra 2083 (1–3 September 2026).

Under the ongoing third phase of the agreement between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC), the Capacity Development Resource Center (CDRC) has commenced Training on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) for Energy Sector.

The Two-day program began on Bhadra 09, 2083 (25 August 2026) at Nagarkot. The overall objective of CDRC is to strengthen the institutional and human resource capacities of executing and implementing agencies (EAs/IAs), enabling them to manage, process, and implement ADB-financed projects more efficiently and effectively.

Portfolio Officer including the thematic experts from ADB were present during the program. From NASC, CDRC Coordinator/Deputy Director of Studies Mr. Shailendra Prasad Bhatt and Training and Research Officer Ms. Sebika Thapa participated in the event.
