The UK government is encouraging households to take simple but important steps to prepare for emergencies by keeping essential supplies that could last at least 72 hours.

Under its national “Be Ready” campaign, the public is advised to store drinking water, long-lasting food, torches, spare batteries, power banks, portable radios, cash and essential medicines.

The initiative aims to help people remain prepared for unexpected disruptions, including extreme weather, flooding, electricity outages, cyber incidents and interruptions to water supplies or communication networks.

Officials have clarified that the advice is a general precautionary measure designed to improve national emergency preparedness, not a response to any specific security threat. Rather than rushing to buy everything at once, households are encouraged to gradually build their emergency supplies. Follow: The Gurkhas

While Rowan Atkinson (famous worldwide as Mr. Bean) built an extraordinary comedy legacy, his son Benjamin Atkinson chose a completely different path—serving as an officer in the British Army’s prestigious Royal Gurkha Ri**es. After passing out from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Benjamin joined the RGR and embraced its rich military traditions. He spent time in Nepal (Pokhara) undergoing intensive language training, mastering Nepali remarkably fast, and actively celebrating traditional festivals like Dashain. From jungle training in Brunei to international exercises in Thailand and New Zealand, Lt. Atkinson has served shoulder-to-shoulder with Gurkha soldiers. While his father captivated global audiences through comedy, Benjamin has forged a respected identity built on leadership, discipline, and service. 🇬🇧🇳🇵
