We have 7 days left until the Boosted Fundraiser closes and we are just over $3000 away from reaching our target, but, in an almost pre-planned co-incidence, the painting we created as part of the season 1 Essence exhibition is also that much!!

At the beginning of each rehearsal, we would all sit round the canvas and paint while we talked about the show, initially we were going to paint the Nihon/Japan Red Sun with the Koru going through the middle but it ended up being the Tino Rangatiratanga symbol - of Self Determination, which summed up our ambition and determination to get to the finish line quite perfectly!

Season 2 is 20 days away! We are straight into rehearsals with the cast (yes that's them! Ahhh) and full steam ahead to the show. Tickets are live and only one thing is missing - funds to break even! We want to make sure we can pay for the Theatre and our phenomenal talent onstage and in the tech booth!

YUP. SEASON 2 IS HERE!!!

5 Days = 5 Shows at , Tāmaki Makaurau.
We are super blessed to have the opportunity to develop and expand on the original show with some beautiful humans added to the line-up 👀
This is the last installment of these shows before flies back home to Nihon/Japan, so we are going all out!

Keep an eye out for some fundraising initiatives to make sure $pūtea$ gets into the pockets of our crazy talented performers, phenomenal tech operator, and awesome theatre staff!!

The Essence exhibition 🌟
We dropped 3x Original pieces as part of the ESSENCE Dance Theatre show, that fit almost TOO well into foyer! And it is currently STILL being displayed in anticipation for the

1. 'ESSENCE' A collaboration between the original cast, worked on at the beginning of each rehearsal and finished by
2. 'KAITIAKI' A magical collaboration between and over one year.
3. 'THEY THEM' An iconic collaboration between and over two years.

’ESSENCE’ is a debut co-created dance theater show, showcasing contemporary Hip-hop dance and other forms of media including spoken-word poetry and a painting exhibit, are used to tell the story of connection, dance as a universal language and how important soul-sister-hood is for young women nowadays. Weaving threads of cultural identity and mental health, ‘ESSENCE’ is an ode to finding our people, beyond borders.

At the moment, we need help with Theatre hire costs, Artist fees and hire fees for a Tech Operator, if you can please consider donating to make this show happen! Donation details are on the show page - tripleviolet.space/essence-2024
