*🛑 Statement from Te Rito Foundation – Supervised Contact Services Procurement*

Te Rito Foundation is deeply disappointed by the disruption to the supervised contact services procurement process, following legal action taken by a single respondent.

As a new provider to this space, we engaged in the process professionally, transparently, and in full compliance with the Ministry of Justice’s clear and well-structured tender framework. The process itself was sound. What is concerning is that one provider’s decision to challenge it has now stalled progress for all others—impacting not only organisations like ours, but the children and families who rely on these services.

Supervised contact is not an abstract policy—it is a critical support for tamariki navigating separation, trauma, and complex family circumstances. Delays of this nature have real consequences, especially for new providers who have invested in readiness and innovation to meet urgent need.

We remain committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services. But if resolution is not reached by 8 October, we will need to reassess our continued involvement. The integrity of the process matters. So does the wellbeing of our whānau.

This statement reflects our position as a tender respondent and does not disclose or comment on confidential procurement matters.
