This Pink Shirt Day, take the time to reflect on how you treat and interact with others.

There is no place for bullying anywhere in our communities.

Training night in action đŸ”„
Our firefighters have been sharpening their height safety skills using the brigade’s roof simulator—practising techniques that keep crews secure while operating at hazardous heights.

In this scenario, the team were tasked to cover the roof with a tarpaulin to keep the weather out and minimise damage to the house's interior.

Ongoing training like this ensures we’re ready to work safely and effectively when it matters most.

Recently, Qualified Firefighter Toru and Firefighter Ben competed in the UFBA's North Island Firefighter Challenge, held in Havelock North. The two competed in both the individual category and as a team in the tandem category.

Described as "The toughest 2 minutes in sport", the challenge involves completing a series of firefighting related tasks while wearing full structural firefighting gear and breathing apparatus. It was a great weekend spent with firefighters from all across the country.

On this Anzac Day, we pause to remember and honour the incredible bravery and selflessness of the soldiers who served and sacrificed for our country.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Life Honorary Member, Station Officer Andrew Rush.

'Rushy' as he was known to all, joined Titirangi VFB in November 2000.
He quickly became an integral member of the brigade, holding portfolios such as Brigade Training Officer and Social Committee President, before moving to sunny Pāpāmoa in late 2016.

Such was his dedication to the brigade, we had the honour of bestowing a Life Membership upon him as part of our Jubilee celebrations in 2024.

Rest easy Rushy; you are loved and will be missed by all.

Happy New Year community!

As we move into 2026, we want to take a moment to look back on what has been a busy and rewarding year for our brigade.

Our volunteers responded to 182 calls in 2025. Slightly above average, but not surprising given the severe weather events that we keep having.

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication our team shows—day or night, rain or shine—turning out to help our community when it matters most.

A huge congratulations to the following members who achieved promotions this year:
Toru Ishida - Qualified Firefighter
Adam Roscoe - Qualified Firefighter
Tate Bennetts - Firefighter
Andy Cheals - Firefighter
Cushla Gwin - Firefighter
Bevan Stubbing - Firefighter
Caelan Boyd - Operational Support Firefighter

Your hard work and commitment keep our brigade strong.

We love getting out and connecting with our community; 2025 saw us hosting local Scouts and Girl Guides, and attending Holi festivals and school galas.
The brigade also dispersed 160Kg of lollies during our annual Santa Lolly Run.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, or supported us throughout the year.

Thanks also to everyone who sponsored us in 2025; your contribution helps us keep the vintage appliance roadworthy and also enhance our offering to the community.

Lastly, to our volunteers, their families, and our wider community—thank you. Your support makes everything we do possible.

Here’s to a safe, positive, and community‑minded New Year. We look forward to serving you in the year ahead.
