I had such a good time being on this Auckland writers festival panel. I had never met the other two panelists and so was hearing their stories for the first time and was in awe of them. Thanks Damon Salesa for pulling this together - We are all also very proud of you!

At a record low of 3.2%, New Zealand's unemployment rate continues to be one of the lowest in the world ๐ŸŒ

Throughout our recovery, weโ€™ve been focussed on creating jobs and making it easier for Kiwis to upskill for the jobs we need to build back better.

While our economy is strong and we have unemployment far lower than most countries, we know that increased costs driven by factors like global inflation are making things tougher for a lot of whฤnau.

That's why we've taken action to ease pressure on families through actions like cutting fuel tax, reducing road user charges, and the reintroduction of the Winter Energy Payment, which is helping around a million Kiwis with their power bills this winter.

The rollout of New Zealand's biggest ever vaccination programme is building momentum! Last week more than 250,000 Pfizer vaccine doses were administered, including more than 15,000 as part of the mass vaccination event held in South Auckland this weekend. Our vaccine programme is a key part of our plan to continue keeping Kiwis safe from COVID-19, as we lock in our hard won gains and continue to secure our recovery.

Increasing main benefits. It's not only the right thing to do, but it's good for our economic recovery too.

This ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡. Great news from Labour.

This weekend marks the return of the winter energy payment - a weekly income boost over the winter months for our low income families and older New Zealanders. I can still remember some of the letters from when we first introduced this payment - people who kept their heaters on, brought a little extra firewood, or the single mum that told be she got extra blankets and woollen socks for her kids. I know it makes a difference!
