A great opportunity for one of our artists, maybe? 🖌

We are calling for expressions of interest from artists for the painting of the electric box outside the Heretaunga women’s centre. Unfortunately, at this stage there is no funding for this – but of course we would pay for paint.
Unison has stated they would need a submission of the proposed art work before final approval was given.
Because the box is right outside the centre, we imagine the art work will reflect women.

Bring a bag to the Friends of Hastings District Libraries book sale on 12, 13 & 14 August at Hastings Library and stuff it till you're grinning 😁

Books are fiddy cent, and magazines will cost you a cool 10 cents, unless otherwise marked

Isn't this great? Kids Hastings Library accounts are for all of you under 16, and now you won't get late charges!
If you need help figuring out how to apply, you can check on the Hastings Library website, go in and talk to them, or come in and chat to me, and I'll explain what you need.

Entries are open for the Annual Earth Guardians Character Design Competition!
Run by Massey University and Weta Workshop, all students from year 10 to 13 can enter, and entries close on July the 1st!
Last year, year 13 student Sara Renall got into the finals!
It's a great opportunity to exercise your creative muscles, and to showcase your talents.

Wowsers! This looks awesome!!

More colour, sound and light is coming to Hastings city centre this week with the arrival of Octopoda – a dramatic new installation that will spend just over two weeks in Albert Square.

It’s being installed today, timed to celebrate two key events in March – Recreation Aotearoa Parks Week and Seaweek – Kaupapa Moana, and will be up and running from March 13 to 28.
