All warnings and watches have been lifted but it’s still going to be a bit wet and miserable today. Expect showers across the region, heavy at times, particularly for the Kāpiti Coast.

Continue to take extra care when out and about, especially on the roads.

⛈️HEAVY RAIN WARNING - TARARUA RANGE⛈️
MetService New Zealand has issued a Heavy Rain Warning for TARAUA RANGE from 9.00 am Friday 5 June to 3am Saturday 6 June.

100-130mm is expected to accumulate with peak rates of 15-25mm/h.

There is also Heavy Rain WATCH for Kāpiti and the rest of the Wellington Region, 9am Fri-2am Saturday, with possible thunderstorms.

Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.

- Take extra care on the roads.
- Clear gutters and drains to help prevent surface flooding.
- If you’re making weekend plans, factor in the weather and be ready to adjust if conditions change.

UPDATE:
Petone Neighbourhood Hub is now closed at 7 Britannia Street. NZ Post is open at 284 Jackson Street. The library will reopen at 284 Jackson Street on Tuesday June 2. If you have reserves you would like to collect, please come see us at 284 Jackson Street. Even though the library isn't open yet, you can still pop in to grab your reserves.
Our new hours of operation are:
Monday-Friday: 9:30-5:30
Saturday: 9-5
Sunday: CLOSED
As always, postal services close half an hour before the library closes.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to serving you at 284 Jackson Street.

Petone Neighbourhood Hub update 📖

The move to our new location is underway!

✉️ NZ Post services at the Britannia Street site have closed and will reopen at 284 Jackson Street from today.

The Petone Neighbourhood Hub on Britannia Street will continue to operate library services until 3:30pm on Wednesday 27 May and then close as we prepare to move into our temporary new home on Jackson Street.

Hub services will begin operating from the new site from Tuesday 2 June.
