Exciting progress on Te Pae o te Rangi - New Plymouth Walkway Extension 👷‍♀️🌊

Our team has been hard at work bringing this incredible project to life, with some beautiful timber features now taking shape along the walkway. It’s been great to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail from the crew as we continue to build a space the whole community can enjoy.

From early starts to steady progress on site, every step gets us closer to delivering a stunning extension that connects people, places, and our coastline.

We’re proud to be part of a project that will create lasting value for New Plymouth. Watch this space as we keep moving forward!

We had a great time earlier this month at the Oho Mauri Expo.

Oho Mauri is doing great work supporting rangatahi who have stepped away from school, helping them build confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare for the workforce.

It was a privilege for the OPS Group team to spend the day alongside other Waikato businesses, connecting with tauira and sharing a bit about what we do and the pathways that can lead into our industry.

We brought along a couple of hands-on challenges, including joining pipe fittings and bending copper. It was great to see the tauira getting stuck in, putting in the mahi, and improving with practice as they gave it another go.

There were some good laughs, a few prizes handed out, and plenty of positive energy throughout the day.

A big thank you to Oho Mauri for having us. We’re proud to support initiatives that help create real pathways into work for the next generation.

Positions available:
✅ Class 5 Truck Drivers
✅ Digger Operators

Class 5 Truck Drivers must have experience with:
✔️ Road Ranger gearbox
✔️ Transporting machinery/materials
✔️ Reversing trailers confidently
✔️ Spreading work
✔️ Working safely on busy job sites

Digger Operators must have experience with:
✔️ Operating excavators/diggers safely and efficiently
✔️ Earthworks, trenching, drainage and site preparation
✔️ Loading trucks
✔️ Working around services and other machinery
✔️ Finishing, trimming and grading work
✔️ Following site plans and instructions

We’re looking for people who have:
✔️ A good attitude
✔️ Strong reliability

🚧 We’re hiring: Project Engineer / Project Manager (3 Waters + Civil) – OPS Plumbing & Pipeline 🚧

OPS Plumbing & Pipeline is looking for a capable Project Engineer / Project Manager to support and deliver a range of civil construction projects across 3 Waters and roading in Taranaki.

This role is hands-on and suits someone who likes being close to site — coordinating crews and subcontractors, tracking progress, managing reporting, supporting contract admin, and helping drive safe, efficient project delivery from start to finish.

✅ 2+ years NZ civil experience
✅ 3 Waters and/or roading background (consultant, client-side, or contractor)
✅ Strong reporting + coordination skills
✅ AutoCAD + MS Office (MS Project a bonus)

OPS is looking for an experienced TMP Planner / TMP Designer to join our team in New Plymouth / Taranaki.

This is an established in-house role supporting a busy pipeline of civil work. You’ll be producing practical, compliant TMPs, managing RCA submissions/approvals, and working closely with our project and site teams to keep worksites safe and jobs moving.

✅ Strong NZGTTM knowledge
✅ Confident managing RCA processes
✅ Practical, site-focused planning
