Everyone Has a Role, A Special Assignment

Because I’m the eldest I understand this Whakatauki and to be honest in my whanau I’m both roles 🥰🤔👌

Nāu te rourou ki mua, ko te hāpai ō ki muri.
Those with knowledge lead, those who support follow behind.

It reminds me that in every whānau, community, organisation, church, workplace, or friendship group, everyone has a role to play.

As the eldest sibling, mokopuna in my family, I often find myself being the organiser, the planner, the encourager, the problem solver, and the person others come to for advice and support. It is a role I carry with pride, although some days it can feel heavy too.

Over the years I’ve learned that leadership isn’t always about being out front. Sometimes it’s about listening, checking in on others, bringing people together, or quietly helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.

Every role matters.

Whether you’re the leader, the supporter, the caregiver, the teacher, the builder, the listener, the cheerleader, or the person who keeps everyone connected — you are important.

Together we make our whānau and communities stronger.

Blessed to travel to Niue and spend time with my family (same faith) To experience the quality, fresh food from the land, island lifestyle and friendly locals.

I knew I’d be inspired by the beauty of the landscape, rock, ocean, greenery and more so happy I brought my stitching kit.
