Sovereign (By Saint Clifford Bay) - 17.2 Reg. Clydesdale
More to come.... Registered, purebred Clydesdale stallion, Saint Clifford Bay is a whole lot more than your average stallion. With his tall, elegant, up-hill frame, and light expressive movement, Clifford is the perfect cross over any thoroughbred, warmblood, cross-bred, or sport-horse mare. Standing at 17.2hh, Clifford

had been carefully selected for producing the perfect sport horse, pleasure horse, or hunter type – adding height, bone, movement, and trainability. Clifford’s owner, Murray, says Clifford is simply a dream come true – offering everything he could hope for in a stud and companion. Although Clifford’s stunning looks often put him at the centre of attention, it’s his temperament that is actually his number one stand out feature. Clifford’s sensible and reliable ‘workhorse’ attitude makes him a dream to handle and work with – Something that has been passed on to every one of his progeny to date. Clifford has a proven track record of producing eye-catching, athletic, and expressive young stock with all the ‘bling’ you could hope for. Clifford produces high-quality, marketable, offspring with plenty of stand-out features and the temperament of a true companion. Pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/saint+clifford+bay

Thanks for all your lovely messages today. We definitely have so much to be grateful for… and on that note, it must be time for a photo dump of lil’ Mr Boots! (Name still under contention) 🤩

This little powerhouse is just bursting with energy and expression. I’m in love 🥰

There are times when I’d tell you breeding horses is about the most exciting thing you can do with your pants on — and sometimes, within the same few days, one of the toughest. This week has given us the full spectrum ❤️‍🩹

It started on Monday when we discovered that Number 1 — Boots’ c**t — had a low IgG count and was going to need a reasonably expensive plasma transfusion to give him the very best start. Thankfully, he’s doing great now.

Then, on Wednesday night, Mary went into labour with Number 2. Unfortunately, she had a massive c**t who got stuck in the pelvis, and it took a lot of work, with the support of our amazing vet Carin, to get him out. Heartbreakingly, we lost the baby, and Mum is pretty shaken too, but doing ok considering.

After a sleepless Wednesday night, I’d hoped Thursday might be a little quieter… only to discover Ruby looking clammy and very much like we might be getting ready for more action.

Sure enough, an hour later, we watched Ruby slip out a gorgeous big filly. This time, it was a textbook birth, followed by an extremely enthusiastic first drink. By the early hours, we could finally get to bed knowing she had a full belly — although, obviously, I still ‘had’ to get up several more times through the night to check she was okay 🫣

It’s definitely been a rough week…. But look at this little angel 🥰❤️

Must be time for some foal spam! Boots was first to pop, with a cracker c**t by Quin 😍

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this one. Boots is my special riding mare, but she’s always been incredibly maternal and loves the babies, so we decided to give her a break from riding and get her in foal.

Needless to say, she’s pretty smitten with her little man, and he’s doing great. They’re tucked up warm tonight while he strengthens up and this storm passes through — but I’m sure there’ll be plenty more snaps to come!

Big week for Quin this week! He’s been off at MVS EquiBreed getting acquainted with the blue lady and finishing off his AI training.

Feedback from the team is that he’s been an absolute star — taking to everything like a champion. What a legend!

Very excited to share that this means Quin will be available to outside mares this season via AI.

Much appreciation for the team at Equibreed who have been super to work with 🙏

Waiting….. waiting…. Well, I don’t know about them, but I’m practically bursting in anticipation 🫣
