We need to stop planning in 3-year cycles and think about the impact of our decisions on the next generations.

A Future Generations Commissioner will represent that thinking and lead a national conversation on what our future should look like in areas such as health, education, infrastructure and environment, to build unity and establish a clear path into the future.

Kinloch turned on a great day for the annual Kinloch Market yesterday. Lots of sunshine, lots of people and lots of great stalls and entertainment.

Good to talk to some of the local stalls (and sample their products) and huge appreciation to those doing the hard mahi to keep the day running smoothly, including the team from Taupo Community Gardens who were doing a great job to ensure the waste was being disposed of properly.

Its great to see the community come together to put on a successful event to raise money for the Kinloch Kindy.

Voting starts Monday! Time to lock in your decision on what you want the government to look like for the next three years.

The Opportunity Party is presenting an option for change - we can work across parliament to get consensus on a way forward for some of those big issues holding us back as a country.

We've got three candidate meetings across the electorate this week to answer any final questions and help you to a decision.

Matt's got a big heart and a real sense of community. Get along to this event if you can. It's our rural communities that hold us together - they need a bit of TLC occasionally, as do we all.

Part of living it well is having good people around you, and actually talking to them. Not just about the weather or how the season’s tracking, but about the stuff that matters.

That’s what the MOM4M Rural Roundup is all about. Real stories. Real mates. Matt Holden will MC the afternoon, joined by three speakers each bringing a story worth hearing.

Harry Averill was born and bred in Hawke’s Bay and shares his story of recovery, from his teenage years to head boy of Napier Boys’ High School and on to studying Psychology and Economics at Otago.

Wayne Forrest is a TEDx speaker and life coach who marked 30 years in the chair last year, after a rugby accident at 25 changed his life forever.

Sarah Donaldson is a clinical psychologist with a rural background, supporting farming families and rural communities with their mental health, and has coached rugby for the last 15 years.

Once the talking’s done, stay on for a drink, a burger thanks to Silver Fern Farms, and some live music.
