Tenants who filled out this year's Tenant Satisfaction Survey could enter into a lucky draw for a one in five chance of winning $200 supermarket vouchers! Congratulations to all five of our lucky draw winners - including Faiza, pictured here - and to New World Newtown for partially sponsoring these prizes. Thanks to all who generously filled out the survey this year; we're grateful for your feedback, as always. 🫶

🎉 August 2026 marked Te Toi Mahana's third year anniversary as an independent Community Housing Provider! We are so grateful to our tenants, kaitiaki, partners, kaimahi and supporters for all the achievements we've made over these last three (incredible) years. We look forward to the journey ahead, and to building a better housing future for Pōneke. 🏡

Te Toi Mahana is delighted to be confirmed as one of the preferred delivery partners for the Government’s Housing Flexible Fund. Subject to final approval, the Government intends to enable future tenants at our Crofton Downs development (see: https://www.tetoimahana.org.nz/development-pipeline/thatcher-crescent-crofton-downs/) to access subsidised rent.

This will mean that future tenants will receive a discount from the market rent ensuring their homes remain affordable for them and their whānau, while enabling Te Toi Mahana to receive full market rent that can be reinvested into building even more homes across Wellington.

This is a significant achievement for Te Toi Mahana and excellent result for the future of housing in Wellington.

A new partnership is blooming, between Te Toi Mahana and Digital Equity Coalition Aotearoa (DECA)! DECA will play a key role in supporting us as we expand our digital inclusion mahi to inform and empower our tenants. Their work is to connect those who care about digital equity in Aotearoa, including organisations, doers, supporters, allies, funders, champions, mentors, infrastructure and more. Congratulations to our tenant Li Ping, who was nominated by a kaimahi at Te Toi Mahana and has won a Community Champion $100 New World voucher! Li Ping is recognised for regularly volunteering at Berkeley Dallard by supporting Kaibosh, helping to distribute food to tenants and assisting the team with preparation. Thank you Li Ping for your mahi!

💫 The monthly Te Toi Mahana Community Champion Awards recognise tenants who go above and beyond for their community – whether that is organising events, helping neighbours, supporting cultural kaupapa, or anything that contributes to the making our tenant community a stronger and a more supportive environment for everyone.

💫Tenants can be nominated by fellow tenants, Te Toi Mahana staff or partner organisations. Each month the winning tenant will receive a $100 supermarket voucher (sponsored by New World Metro Willis Street).

🏗️ Exciting progress being made on our first, brand new housing development in Crofton Downs!

The first concrete panels that will make up walls of our first residential build were put up yesterday, and we're stoked to see these homes start to come to life. We are glad to be partnering with Homestead NZ for these homes which will:
