I have been a registered wedding celebrant since 2014 and have carried out this role in a variety of wedding ceremonies since.

I love working with couples to create their personal and unique ceremony - one they will always remember. I am also privileged to be the celebrant at funerals and will work closely with family and anyone else close to the deceased to ensure their ceremony is just what they want to farewell their loved one. I have just moved to the glorious community of Roxburgh in Central Otago and having given myself some time to settle in I am now looking forward to growing my celebrant work again.

While the busy time of year for weddings is typically spring through the early autumn, winter can also be an amazing time of year to get married. Imagine wedding photos with snow capped mountains in the background - or even taken in the snow on top of a mountain! Winter themed weddings can truly be 'one out of the box'.

1st July - how fast is this year going by! From today registry style weddings are no longer undertaken by the smaller regional courthouses. If you are wanting a registry style wedding ceremony and you live outside the main centres go onto the Births, Deaths and Marriages website and find a celebrant who lives closest to where you live who will be able to perform this ceremony for you. Only celebrants who have been approved to deliver this type of ceremony are legally able to do this.

The amazing season of autumn in the Teviot Valley, Central Otago. There's a lot going for an autumn wedding - the colours are incredible and so many amazing locations for photos - and the weather can still be wonderful

My hubby and I aren't big time into Valentine's Day but it was so nice to share a Valentine's cupcake at 103 The Store this morning. Salted caramel - yum!!

It was special for me to be the celebrant for Mark and Sue on Saturday. The weather came to the party - the rain stopped, the wind dropped and the sun shone for the outdoor ceremony in Abberley Park. A happy, happy couple - and happy, happy guests.

It must be reflecting on my friend's 25 years of marriage but I was reminded of something I read a wee while back about 3 'rules' for a successful relationship that really resonated with me:
1. Be there to meet the emotional needs of each other.
2. Don't hurt each other.
3. Make decisions in the best interests of the other.
If we stick to these rules most of the time we can cope with any challenges that crop up in our relationship/marriage much better. Worth thinking about I reckon.

So lucky to celebrate our dear friends 25th wedding anniversary with them on Sunday. We were at the lovely fishing village of Moeraki - what a great place. And the secret to a long and happy marriage? Not a secret really - accept it won't always be perfect as no person is perfect but always keep your respect for your husband/wife - you may not always like or agree with what they do but you will always love them.
Congrats to the lovely Andrea and David - looking forward to you guys help us celebrate our 25th anniversary next year!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go on the jet boat tour from Roxburgh Dam to Drs Point and then dropped off at Shingle Creek (The ride back to Roxburgh Dam on the cycle trail in 34 degree heat is another story!). A big thanks to Dave from jet for an amazing trip. Not only beautiful scenery but such an interesting history that Dave was able to share with passion and humour. No wonder this trip is a highlight with our visitors.

Getting some great feedback from couples about the new on line application for a marriage license. I am celebrant for a family wedding in Christchurch next month and after the couple applyed on line and went into Births, Deaths and Marriages to sign the documents, BDM couried the paperwork direct to me in Roxburgh - simple and easy

Hi everyone - looking forward to an amazing 2018 and wishing you all the best of years to come. I am also excited to get busier with my celebrant work this year in the Teviot Valley. As well as weddings I enjoy working with people who are keen to renew their vows, celebrate special occasions like those 'big' birthdays and anniversaries. How great was this view coming back to Roxburgh from Alexandra today? The rainbow was perfectly over the Teviot Valley.

Wonderful signs of spring everywhere - even in our garden. So many bulbs poking up all over our garden and these were the first to bloom. Spring weddings about to start
