Brave Hearts was formed in Feb 2017 to create ‘care packages’ for NICU families based in Wellington Hospital, NZ. What can a care package do, you may ask?!

Life for some babies whether born prematurely or full term sometimes starts in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. While the NICU team do an excellent job providing all the support the baby needs, it can actually be a pretty hard and stressful journey for the parents or carers involved. Brave Hearts was formed in Feb 2017 to create ‘care packages’ for these NICU families. Having a child in NICU, be

it in a very intensive or stable condition can be stressful for any parent. Our hope with these care packages is that the person receiving them will know they are not alone, and we hope our little packages will inspire families with the hope of tomorrow and bring some cheer to their day. All our packages will be going to families based in the Neonatal Care Unit in Wellington Hospital. If you are reading this and have a baby in a NICU elsewhere in the country or know a parent out of Wellington with a NICU child who would be blessed with a care package, get in touch with us.

So glad that we were able to provide some Mother’s Day carebags to both Wellington hospital NICU and Hutt hospital SCBU.

This year we were able to pass on some Christmas care bags to Wellington Hospital NICU, Children’s ward, Hutt hospital SCBU and Masterton hospital SCBU
