So proud to have held our first business meeting at Hoani Waititi Marae for the new term.❤️

This time we had the privilege of welcoming guests, rather than being welcomed as guests ourselves. The entire process was incredibly beautiful, moving, and heartwarming.

Ngā mihi nui to everyone who helped make today so special. We are so lucky.

🚂 Calling all Glen Edenites! The level crossing survey closes on 30th May! 🚂

Now is your chance to help shape the future of our level crossing. Link to survey below.

🚆🛤️ Auckland Transport is working to remove or replace level crossings across the Western Line. This will unlock the full CRL benefits of high frequency trains while keeping traffic moving, improving safety and enhancing our neighbourhood!

Now’s your chance to help shape how these crossings are replaced with safer connections for everyone walking, cycling, driving, or catching the train.

Great news for Swanson!

Great news for Swanson!

🦊✨ Swanson Station Reserve is getting a glow-up!

We’re excited to share that a brand-new flying fox and mega swing are on the way.

The new flying fox will feature steel poles and will be extended closer to the playground module for a longer, more enjoyable ride. We’re also installing fresh Matta surfacing underneath, including a custom “Swanson” imprint that’ll connect through to the playground area. 🛝

The existing swing is also being replaced with a new mega swing, while the current Matta tiles underneath will stay in place after testing confirmed they’re still in great condition. 🛴

Works are now underway, including some path and drainage improvements, with construction expected to be completed by the end of June 2026, weather permitting.

$1.6 million is heading back into The West.

Our biggest-ever community funding round just landed, with 78 local organisations sharing in $1,610,142.76 through the Your West Support Fund and Your West Innovation Fund. That's 53% more recipients than last year.

From rangatahi employment pathways and rock-fishing rescue programmes to community gardens, music therapy, refugee English classes, surf rescue craft, and environmental restoration, the breadth of mahi being backed this year is extraordinary.

Love Matuku Link! Scroll down my page to see our kayaking adventure a couple of weeks ago. Amazing to see the abundance of wetland flora and fauna. All due to the dedication of their wonderful team of volunteers.

🚗 Update for residents of Glengarry Rd, north of Solar Rd🚗

I have neen supporting residents with safety concerns on Glengarry Rd since laye last year. After advocacy from the community, AT are installing additional broken yellow lines on some sections of the road. Letters are being delivered to nearby residents. There are still safety issues which remain and I will continue to advocate for those with the community.

More information, including maps of the changes - https://haveyoursay.at.govt.nz/glengarry-road-2026

From AT:
We’ve received requests from members of the community to improve vehicle access along Glengarry Road in Glen Eden. When vehicles are parked on the side of the road in some locations this can make it difficult for other traffic to drive through safely, with drivers, including bus drivers, sometimes needing to cross the centreline.

In some locations having cars parked on the side of the road can also cause visibility issues where people are crossing the road. To improve safety and visibility on Glengarry Road, we are planning to implement some changes.
