IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE! IT'S TIME FOR WOMEN TO LEAD! 📢

The PNG Women Lead Political Party is rising, and we're bringing a fresh, powerful voice to the political landscape of Papua New Guinea!

We believe in a future where our nation thrives, and that future starts with strong, compassionate, and visionary leadership from women.

For too long, the voices of women have been underrepresented, and the needs of our families and communities have been sidelined. We are here to change that!

🌟 Our Vision:

For Women & Our Families:

- Creating policies that directly support the well-being, safety, and prosperity of every woman and child in PNG.

Empowering Communities:

- Investing in education, healthcare, and economic opportunities that uplift entire families and villages.

Good Governance:

- Championing transparency, accountability, and integrity in all levels of government.

Sustainable Development:

- Protecting our precious natural resources for future generations while fostering responsible economic growth.

We are mothers, sisters, daughters, and leaders – united by a common goal: to build a better, stronger Papua New Guinea for everyone.

So what do these numbers tell you? 📊

The way we see it, whether volunteering at home or abroad, young or seasoned, full-time or not...

No act of volunteering should go unseen or uncounted.

Rural women are vital leaders in their communities, playing a key role in tackling global challenges such as poverty, hunger and the climate crisis.

On Wednesday’s International Day of Rural Women — and every day — we can all:

🔸 Recognize their work as food providers and protectors of the environment.
🔸 Call for their participation in community decision-making.
🔸 Advocate for rural areas where women have the same opportunities as men.

Join UN Women in calling for bold action to advance the equality, rights and empowerment of women and girls living in rural settings.

🌺 Rural Women Rising – Shaping Resilient Futures with Beijing+30: The Weavers of Pentecost.

This International Day of Rural Women, we celebrate the women of North and Central Pentecost, Vanuatu, who are powerfully embodying the 2025 theme. Under the main leadership of the Ulin Maho Association, they are not just preserving culture; they are shaping resilient futures by putting the Beijing Declaration’s core principles into action.
In communities from Lolkasae to Alta, nearly 40 women are rising as leaders and educators. Through the revival of traditional basket weaving, they are:

đź©· Empowering Women & Girls: Actively transferring skills to the next generation, ensuring girls inherit both a craft and a source of future income.

🛖 Building Economic Resilience: Creating sustainable livelihoods that allow them to meet their families’ needs, a cornerstone of the Beijing Platform.

✨Safeguarding Cultural Heritage: Taking bold steps to reclaim and strengthen their cultural identity, which is essential for holistic community resilience.

Their commitment extends to the land itself, with the replanting of pandanus trees securing the raw materials for generations to come. This initiative, guided by Melanesian Women Today and financed by the Pacific Peoples' Partnership Pacific Resilience Fund, is a living example of how rural women are the key architects of a sustainable and resilient future, exactly as envisioned thirty years ago in Beijing.

âś… Join us in honouring these remarkable women and the Ulin Maho Association for their pivotal role in weaving together tradition, economic empowerment, and environmental stewardship.
