NEWS UPDATE

The three Presidents representing Lyap, Lai, and Waghe were formally notified and invited to attend the meeting. They were present throughout the proceedings at the conference room of McRoyal Hotel in Mount Hagen, from the opening of the meeting until the nomination process began.

During the voting process, a vote of 4–3 was recorded. Following the outcome, the three presidents left the conference room after the result was announced.

Any claims that they were not present at the meeting are inaccurate, as they attended the proceedings before the vote was taken.

In any democratic process, there will always be winners and losers. Leadership is not only about contesting elections but also about accepting the outcome with respect, congratulating the successful candidate, and working together for the benefit of the people.

Unfortunately, in Kandep, it is often difficult for some leaders to accept defeat, congratulate their opponents, and unite after an election. True leadership requires putting the interests of the community above personal disappointment.
