After two days of urgent appeals and calls for assistance, there is finally good news for young Lucas Maisel Tink, who has been battling a serious illness in the remote Gama area.

MAF Papua New Guinea has confirmed that a medivac flight will take place this morning, 04 June 2026, transporting Lucas from Kenainz Airstrip to Goroka for urgent medical treatment.

For days, Lucas's family faced uncertainty as they searched for help. His father, Maisel Tink, climbed mountain tops to find network coverage and reach out for assistance in a desperate effort to save his son's life. Their call for help was heard, and support soon began to arrive.

Special thanks go Shera Chelonia Michael of MAF, who responded to the appeal and helped coordinate the medivac arrangements and the operations team Of MAF.

We also sincerely acknowledge Hon. Vincent P. Ambane Kumura , MP for Usino-Bundi, and the Usino-Bundi District Development Authority (DDA) for supporting the medical evacuation and helping ensure Lucas receives the urgent care he needs.

This medivac is more than just a flightβ€”it is a lifeline for a young boy, hope for a worried family, and a reminder that when people come together, lives can be saved.

We thank everyone who shared the appeal, offered prayers, and assisted in any way. Please continue to keep Lucas Maisel in your thoughts and prayers as he travels to Goroka for treatment.

Every child deserves a chance to live. β€οΈπŸ•ŠοΈ
