The Positive & Action-Oriented Post
๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฌ Building a Perfect PNG: A Vision for Our Future! ๐Ÿค

Imagine a Papua New Guinea where every citizen thrives. Achieving a "perfect" country isn't a pipe dreamโ€”it's about consistent, focused action in key areas.
Hereโ€™s a snapshot of how we can do it, together:
* Transparency & Accountability First: Implement strict anti-corruption measures, ensuring public funds serve the people through accessible auditing and governance. Leadership must be accountable to the people, every single day.
* Invest in Human Capital: Prioritize Education and Health. Free, quality primary and secondary schooling, coupled with universal, accessible healthcare, will unlock our nation's true potential. Healthy, educated citizens build a strong economy.
* Infrastructure for Connection: Focus on building and maintaining reliable roads, power, and digital networks across all provinces to connect our diverse communities and facilitate economic activity.
* Sustainable Resource Management: Ensure the benefits from our rich natural resources (minerals, timber, fisheries) flow back to the landowners and are managed sustainably for future generations, not just short-term gains.
* Empower Local Economies: Support small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and agricultural development, encouraging self-reliance and creating jobs right in our local districts.
It's a huge task, but with unity, integrity, and a shared vision, PNG can be the strong, prosperous nation we all dream of! What area do YOU think is the most critical? Let's discuss! ๐Ÿ‘‡

**The Most Common Emotional and Cognitive Symptoms of Short-Term Stress*
When youโ€™re under a lot of stress, you may find that youโ€™re more emotional than usual โ€” or crankier. Here are some signs to look for:[1]
Anxiety or nervousness โ€” in the American Psychological Associationโ€™s (APA) 2017 Stress in America survey, 36 percent of people report that stress makes them feel more nervous or anxious.[6]
Anger or irritability โ€” in the APA survey, 35 percent of people report this.
Difficulty concentrating or forgetfulness
Depression, low mood, or crying
Fatigue
Withdrawn mood
Feeling overwhelmed
Difficulty sleeping โ€” in the APA survey, 45 percent of people report lying awake during the previous month.
A change in eating habits or appetite (eating much more or less)
An increase in alcohol or drug use
All those stress hormones also have an effect on your body. Here are some of the most common physical symptoms of stress:[4]
Muscular tension (tight shoulders, back, or jaw)
Headache
Gastrointestinal symptoms, including acid reflux, stomachache, constipation, or diarrhea
Increased blood pressure and heart rate
Sweating
Dry mouth
Heart palpitations or arrhythmia
Lowered immunity โ€” you may be more prone to infection.
Skin rashes

The medical faculty of Papua New Guinea is no longer under UPNG; it has become an independent institution called the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. This change was finalized in late October 2025 when the PNG National Parliament passed the bill to create the new university, which was formerly the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (MedFac) of UPNG.

Past: The School of Medicine and Health Sciences was previously a part of the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG).

Present: It is now an independent institution called the University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Milestone: This transition was a result of a bill passed by the Papua New Guinea Parliament in October 2025.

Former Prime Minister, Ialibu Pangia MP and leader of the People's National Congress Party Hon. Peter O'Neil has been named as the Alternative PM Nominee for a new Vote of No Confidence Motion that was filed and submitted today (Wednesday 29th Oct, 2025).

This was also welcomed by current Prime Minister James Marape and his cabinet through a media statement circulated from the PM's Office.
