Office of Libraries and Archives Services is an agency to Ministry of Education that is operated independently under the National Library and Archives Act 1993.

Functions of the National Library Services are first and foremost to promote literacy, encourage reading and disseminate information and ideas by the establishment of public libraries, district library services, rural library services, school library services and other means; to maintain and develope a national collection of library materials, including a comprehensive collection of library materials relating to Papua New Guinea and its people.

Additionally this page was basically created to market our information services to general public so that people will come to understand the importance of Library and Archives services.
National library has a big warehouse where all the school library books are kept. Schools place orders and we give out books.
