nt, Culture & Arts, People’s Participation in Local Governance, and Mental Health. In his term as a legislator, he has authored and sponsored many significant ordinances and resolutions for Kalibo including:
- Declaring and institutionalizing the Foundation Day of Kalibo
- Mandating the installations of CCTV in schools, businesses, and other establishments
- Strengthening Transparency, accountability, and Peoples participation in Local Governance
- Implementation of the cultural mapping project that identifies, documents, and preserves the cultural heritage and cultural assets of Aklan.
- The conversion of Bakhaw Norte Elementary School into Bakhaw Norte Integrated School
- Endorsing the transformation of Kalibo Elementary School II into Kalibo integrated Special Education Center
Mark Vega Quimpo finished his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity University of Asia and Masters in Public Administration from Aklan State University with Special Courses in Leadership and Local Legislation in NCPAG UP Diliman and Asian Institute of Management. He is married to Chelo Yu and is blessed with three children—Anna the eldest daughter is a 3rd Year Law Student at UP Diliman, Marco a Freshman College at De La Salle University, and Kara is in Grade 7 at Garcia College of Technology. As a hobbyist turned Professional Photographer, some of his photos were published on national newspapers and magazines such as the Manila Bulletin. He is also a health and fitness advocate who enjoys biking, running, lawn tennis, and weight training and participates in national and international events Spartan Race, Antique Trails, etc.
