MAKING MOTHERHOOD SAFE & HEALTHY IN ALEGRIA!

Our dedicated National Health Workforce Support System (NHWSS/HRH) team from the Alegria Primary Care Facility recently rolled out a comprehensive Safe Motherhood Awareness Campaign, reaching out to various barangays across our municipality!

The multi-barangay caravan focused on equipping our community with the vital knowledge needed to ensure safe pregnancies and healthy deliveries. Our team highlighted three non-negotiable pillars of maternal health:

✅Regular Prenatal Check-ups – To monitor the well-being of both mommy and baby.
✅Essential Laboratory Tests – For early detection and prevention of potential complications.
✅Proper Micronutrient Supplementation – Emphasizing the daily intake of prescribed prenatal vitamins and iron.

This impactful initiative successfully brought together a wonderful group of participants, including:

✔️Sweetheart Club Members (Supporting partners and family members)

Today, the 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 was successfully conducted at the Barangay Gamuton Covered Court in the Municipality of Alegria through the collaborative efforts of the Primary Care Facility of Alegria staff and NHWSS/HRH, led by Dr. Mae T. Ravidaz, RMT.

A wide range of essential health services were brought closer to the community, including:
✅ Vital Signs Monitoring – 106 catered
✅ PhilHealth Caravan – 94 catered
✅ PhilPEN Risk Assessment – 61 catered
✅ Medical Consultation – 72 catered
✅ Medicine Dispensation – 65 catered
✅ Deworming and Schistosomiasis Mass Drug Treatment – 16 catered

The activity also highlighted the importance of health education through informative lectures from dedicated resource speakers:

The NHWSS/HRH from the Primary Care Facility of Alegria successfully conducted an awareness campaign on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) across the different barangays of Alegria.

This health advocacy aimed to educate and empower pregnant women, senior citizens, Tuberculosis clients, 4Ps members, and Barangay Health Workers through informative discussions about the disease.

The team emphasized the:
✅ Modes of transmission of HIV/AIDS
✅ Prevention and protection strategies
✅ Common signs and symptoms
✅ Proper management and treatment of the disease

Through this initiative, the Primary Care Facility of Alegria continues its commitment to promoting health awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging the community to practice safe and healthy living.
