💚🥛 Nakikiisa ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Igbalangao sa pagdiriwang ng Nutrition Month 2026!

Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Nutrition Month ngayong taon, buong pusong nakiisa ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Igbalangao kasama ang ating masisipag na Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) sa pagsasagawa ng programang naglalayong itaguyod ang kalusugan at wastong nutrisyon ng ating mga kabataan.

Bilang suporta sa adhikaing ito, nagbigay ang Sangguniang Kabataan ng fresh milk para sa ating mga malnourished na kabataan, bilang munting ambag upang makatulong sa kanilang tamang paglaki at mas malusog na pangangatawan.

Naniniwala ang ating Sangguniang Kabataan na ang isang malusog na kabataan ay siyang pundasyon ng isang matatag at maunlad na komunidad. Patuloy tayong magkaisa sa pagsusulong ng mga programang nagbibigay ng pag-asa, kalusugan, at mas magandang kinabukasan para sa bawat kabataan.

As part of the Go, Grow, and Glow Nutrition Month Celebration, the Nutri-Talk on Health, Nutrition, and Environmental Awareness was led by SK Chairperson Hon. John Alrich Vincent Magaro. The session encouraged our Day Care learners to practice healthy eating, stay active, and care for the environment as they grow into healthy and responsible young individuals.

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜: Themed, 𝘕𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯, 𝘈𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘢𝘯, the Municipality of Bugasong joined the nation in celebrating the 52nd Nutrition Month with a culminating activity today, July 27, at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The event began with attendee registration, followed by the parade of floats and participating teams, encompassing KALIPI, DepEd, DCW, SK, and MAO.

Present to give their support were Mayor Victor R. Condez and SB Marvin R. Rico, who also served as one of the judges for the float contest, while SKMF Pres. John Alrich Vincent V. Magaro, Chairperson, Committee on Health, welcomed and thanked everyone for their presence and support.

Likewise, present also were Mrs. Irene R. Duldoco, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Designate, who served as the keynote speaker, with MNAO Jose Marie C. Barcelo, RN, and Jennifer Rose A. Tatoy, RN, LDRRMO I/MENRO Designate.

𝗕𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟱𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.

The Municipal Government of Bugasong, through the Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC), successfully culminated the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration on July 27, 2026, at the Municipal Covered Gym in Ilaya, Bugasong, with this year's theme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan."

The celebration brought together representatives from various local government offices, barangays, schools, and community organizations in a collective effort to strengthen nutrition awareness while emphasizing the vital role of environmental conservation in achieving healthier communities.

In his message, Mayor Victor R. Condez, Chairman of the Municipal Nutrition Committee, underscored the importance of innovation in making health services more accessible to every Bugasongnon.

"We need to be more innovative when it comes to providing access to health," Hon. Condez said.

He further emphasized that addressing malnutrition requires a shared commitment among stakeholders, highlighting that everyone has a role in shaping a healthier future for the municipality.

"We must focus on addressing nutrition problems in our municipality. We must be co-creators of health for our children so that we can attain what is ideal for our community," he added.

The event also featured a keynote message from Mrs. Irene R. Duldoco, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer-Designate, who stressed the close relationship between nutrition and environmental sustainability.

She encouraged participants to actively engage in tree planting, proper waste segregation, and other climate-responsive initiatives, emphasizing that protecting the environment today is an investment in the health and well-being of future generations.

Adding energy to the celebration, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) staff performed the Chikiting Ligtas and Dengue Advocacy Dances in support of the upcoming Measles Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity and the municipality's dengue awareness campaign, promoting community participation in dengue prevention through proper sanitation and the elimination of mosquito breeding sites.

One of the highlights of the culminating activity was the awarding ceremony for the NutriFloat Competition, recognizing the creativity and commitment of participating organizations in promoting nutrition advocacy.

The winners were; 1st Place (Child Development Workers), 2nd Place (Team BUGANA) 3rd Place (Department of Education), 4th Place (Sangguniang Kabataan) and 5th Place (KALIPI)
The winning teams received cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding participation and support for the municipality's nutrition advocacy.

The successful culmination of the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration reaffirmed the Municipality of Bugasong's commitment to promoting proper nutrition, preventive healthcare, and environmental stewardship through strong collaboration among government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.

TUTOK KAINAN SUPPLEMENTATION PROGRAM LAUNCHED.

The Municipality of Bugasong launched the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program, today, January 27, 2026 at the Municipal Covered Gym, Ilaya, Bugasong, Antique. The said program where the municipality is one of the recipients is a nutrition intervention initiative by the National Nutrition Council aimed at addressing stunting and wasting among children and improving the nutritional status of pregnant women through the provision of nutritious meals and proper nutrition education.

The activity was attended by the program’s recipients, Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Rural Health Midwives, HRH DOH alongside Hon Marvin Rico, OIC Mayor, Dr. Irma Adayon (Municipal Health Officer), Jose Marie Barcelo, RN (Public Health Nurse and MNAO Designate), Janet Quiatson (Public Health Nurse), and Mrs. Shirley Falcon (MNAC Designate).

Mrs. Sophia Suetado, RND, Nutritionist-Dietician II from PDOHO Antique served as the activity’s Resource Speaker who shared her expertise on the importance of nutrition to the first 1000 days of life in the prevention of stunting and in the orientation on the implementation of the said supplementation program.

The Tutok Kainan Program underscores the national and local government’s commitment to promoting maternal and child health and ensuring a healthier future for the community. The municipality covers 32 under-five stunted and wasted preschoolers and 70 pregnant women as program recipients.

The Municipality of Bugasong was once again honored by the National Nutrition Council Region VI Department of Health CHD WV with the Green Banner Seal of Compliance Award for the fourth consecutive year. The awarding ceremony was held on November 24, 2025, at Days Hotel, Iloilo City.

Receiving the award on behalf of the municipality were Hon. Susan Escote, Acting Municipal Mayor; Dr. Irma Adayon, Municipal Health Officer; Nurse Jose Marie Barcelo, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Designate and Hon. Antioco Blase Jr., Barangay Captain of Igbalangao.

In addition, Bugasong proudly celebrates the achievements of two outstanding individuals:
