TUTOK KAINAN SUPPLEMENTATION PROGRAM LAUNCHED.
The Municipality of Bugasong launched the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program, today, January 27, 2026 at the Municipal Covered Gym, Ilaya, Bugasong, Antique. The said program where the municipality is one of the recipients is a nutrition intervention initiative by the National Nutrition Council aimed at addressing stunting and wasting among children and improving the nutritional status of pregnant women through the provision of nutritious meals and proper nutrition education.
The activity was attended by the program’s recipients, Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Rural Health Midwives, HRH DOH alongside Hon Marvin Rico, OIC Mayor, Dr. Irma Adayon (Municipal Health Officer), Jose Marie Barcelo, RN (Public Health Nurse and MNAO Designate), Janet Quiatson (Public Health Nurse), and Mrs. Shirley Falcon (MNAC Designate).
Mrs. Sophia Suetado, RND, Nutritionist-Dietician II from PDOHO Antique served as the activity’s Resource Speaker who shared her expertise on the importance of nutrition to the first 1000 days of life in the prevention of stunting and in the orientation on the implementation of the said supplementation program.
The Tutok Kainan Program underscores the national and local government’s commitment to promoting maternal and child health and ensuring a healthier future for the community. The municipality covers 32 under-five stunted and wasted preschoolers and 70 pregnant women as program recipients.
