Whether one supports or opposes impeachment, the principle should remain the same: the process must be lawful, fair, transparent, and grounded in the Constitution.

Our children should never be manipulated into violence by people who hide behind screens. Online groomers can build trust, exploit vulnerability, encourage secrecy, and gradually push young people toward harmful or violent acts. Parents, guardians, teachers, and communities must stay vigilant, talk openly with children about online safety, educate them properly about the internet and teach them to stay away from malicious activities and groups and recognize and report suspicious behavior.

Ang West Philippine Sea ay bahagi ng ating bayan, at ang ating paninindigan para sa soberanya ay hindi dapat matinag. Sa harap ng magkakaibang pahayag at pag-aangkin, nananatiling matatag ang Armed Forces of the Philippines sa pagtatanggol sa ating karapatan, teritoryo, at pambansang interes.

Ang BRP Sierra Madre ay higit pa sa isang barko, ito ay sagisag ng ating presensya, tapang, at determinasyong ipagtanggol ang Pilipinas. The city’s charter was established under Commonwealth Act No. 158, which amended the earlier charter and incorporated surrounding areas, including La Paz and Arevalo, into Iloilo City.

The celebration marks an important milestone in Iloilo’s development as a city. It recognizes the city’s transformation into an organized urban center and its continuing growth as a hub for trade, culture, education, tourism, and governance in Western Visayas.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has rejected the Chinese Embassy’s claims that the Philippines had promised to remove the BRP Sierra Madre from Ayungin Shoal, accusing Beijing of attempting to “rewrite history” regarding the Philippine Navy vessel’s presence in the area.

AFP spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, retired Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad, said the Philippines will not abandon the BRP Sierra Madre and criticized what he described as China’s record of “deceptive narratives” in the West Philippine Sea.

Trinidad cited China’s 1995 occupation of Panganiban Reef (Mischief Reef), where Beijing initially described structures as temporary shelters for fishermen. The AFP said the area has since been transformed into a heavily fortified military facility with an airstrip, missile installations, radar systems and naval berths.

In contrast, the AFP maintains that the grounding of the BRP Sierra Madre at Ayungin Shoal in 1999 was a lawful sovereign act and that Philippine personnel continue to carry out their duties in accordance with international law.

The AFP’s position comes amid renewed tensions over Ayungin Shoal and competing claims between Manila and Beijing in the West Philippine Sea.

The Philippines maintains that it will continue defending its maritime rights, sovereignty and national interests.

Typhoon Saudel is expected to enter the northeastern boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday and further strengthen the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” according to PAGASA.

As of 3 a.m., Saudel was located about 1,660 kilometers east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near its center and moving west-northwest at 30 km/h.

PAGASA said the storm, which will be locally named Obet, is expected to remain over the Philippine Sea and could intensify into a super typhoon before leaving the PAR on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Batanes may experience occasional rains, with moderate to heavy rainfall potentially triggering flash floods and landslides. Metro Manila and several parts of Luzon may see cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the enhanced habagat.

The rest of the country is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers from localized thunderstorms. Northern and western Luzon may also experience moderate to strong southwest winds and moderate to rough seas.

PAGASA is also monitoring another tropical depression east of southern Luzon, although it is not expected to enter the PAR. Tropical Depression Gaenari, formerly Neneng, is already outside the PAR near Taiwan but continues to enhance the southwest monsoon.

Residents are advised to stay updated with official weather bulletins and remain prepared for possible heavy rains, flooding, landslides and rough seas.
