Masbate PDRRMO Site Visit to Aroroy 911 Emergency Action Center
October 2, 2026
Acting Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (PDRRMO) Fida R. Valdemoro and her team visited today the Aroroy 911 Emergency Action Center as part of the Provincial Government's initiative to explore the establishment of an Emergency 911-Masbate system at the provincial level.
During the visit, Ronnie B. Atacador, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (MDRRMO) of Aroroy, together with Antonio R. Santos Jr., LGU Aroroy IT Officer and Aroroy 911 Emergency Supervisor, warmly welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive presentation on the operations of the local 911 center.
Several key areas were discussed, including the establishment and operational costs of a 911 center, radio communication networks, CCTV systems, call-taking and dispatch procedures, operational challenges, and best practices in emergency response management.
The exchange of ideas and experiences highlighted the importance of a coordinated emergency communication and response system in enhancing public safety throughout the province. The Aroroy MDRRMO and the Aroroy 911 Emergency Action Center reaffirmed their commitment and willingness to provide technical assistance and share their expertise should the Province of Masbate require support in the development and implementation of its envisioned Emergency 911 system.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Fida Valdemoro, PDRRMO for taking the time to conduct the site visit and to Governor Richard T. Kho for his continued commitment to strengthening and elevating Disaster Risk Reduction and Management services across the Province of Masbate.
Together, we move toward a safer, more resilient, and better-connected Masbate.
