It has come to the attention of the Bacolod City Veterinary Office, through reports circulating on social media, that a dog was allegedly shot with an Indian target.

Upon learning of the incident, the City Veterinary Office immediately conducted an investigation and coordinated with Barangay 8, headed by Hon. Evelyn Donesa, regarding the matter and the appropriate actions to be taken.

The City Veterinary Office strongly condemns and does not tolerate any act of cruelty, or abuse against animals. Animals should never be subjected to unnecessary harm or used in activities that put their lives and welfare at risk.

We encourage everyone to REPORT any similar incidents or suspected cases of animal cruelty to the proper authorities. Your report can help us respond promptly and investigate the matter.

Let us work together in building a Stronger Bacolod that promotes compassion, responsible pet ownership, and respect for animal welfare.

The Bacolod City Veterinary Office joined the celebration of Sir Paws’ 4th Anniversary by offering free anti-rabies vaccination for pets during the event.

The celebration featured a pet fashion show and pet parade, bringing together pet owners and animal lovers to celebrate their pets while promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

The office continues to support pet-centered celebrations and community events that raise awareness on proper pet care, responsible ownership, and the importance of keeping pets healthy and protected through regular vaccination.

The Bacolod City Veterinary Office's ASF Monitoring and Surveillance Team conducted courtesy calls to Barangays Sum-ag, Cabug, and Handumanan, July 28.

The team was received by Punong Barangay Jennifer Pintucan in Brgy. Cabug, Ma. Febe Legaspi in Brgy. Handumanan, and Barangay Secretary April Mae Cornel Villaranda in Brgy. Sum-ag.

The meetings focused on strengthening farm biosecurity measures, conducting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns, and enhancing ASF surveillance and monitoring efforts.

Purok Kapalaran, Calong-Calong 1, Sampaguita 4, and Greenplains will resume their scheduled rabies vaccination on July 31 following its postponement last week due to inclement weather.

The team will continue its house-to-house rabies vaccination in Brgy. Tangub today.

The team was received by Kagawad Ma. Socorro Gauzon in Mansilingan, Kagawad Eduardo Galona in Vista Alegre, and Kagawad Manuela Martinez together with Barangay Secretary John Kevin Gregory in Taculing, all representing their respective Punong Barangays.

Discussions focused on strengthening farm biosecurity measures, conducting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns, and enhancing ASF surveillance and monitoring efforts to safeguard Bacolod City's swine industry through continued partnership.
