I joined Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos and the Ilocos Norte delegation during the launching of the Genuine Ilokano Program held in Hawai‘i, USA, as part of the “Ilocos Norte Night” celebration. This meaningful initiative strengthens the connection between Ilokanos abroad and our home province by creating opportunities for cultural engagement, tourism promotion, investment partnerships, MSME linkages, and community development.
The Genuine Ilokano Program serves as both a digital and physical membership platform that reconnects Ilokanos, Filipino-Americans, balikbayans, investors, tourists, and supporters around the world to the opportunities, services, and programs of Ilocos Norte. Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos emphasized the importance of preserving the strong ties among Ilokanos across the globe, especially with Hawai‘i’s deep historical connection to Ilocos Norte and the lasting contributions of Ilokano migrants to Filipino communities abroad.
This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte to ensure that every Ilokano, wherever they may be, remains connected to their roots, culture, and identity. As one Ilokano community, we continue to work together in promoting our heritage, supporting local development, and creating opportunities that benefit future generations.
