Fairview ES Ushers in a New Era of Leadership Through a Meaningful Joint Induction Ceremony

Guided by the theme, "Leading with Purpose, Serving with Heart: Empowering Leaders, Strengthening the Fairview ES Community," Fairview Elementary School successfully conducted the Joint Induction Program of the newly elected officers of the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), Project KAAGAPAY, Faculty Club, Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG), and YES-O Club on July 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The event formally welcomed the school's new set of leaders who pledged to serve with integrity, commitment, and compassion throughout School Year 2026โ€“2027. The program commenced with an inspiring Welcome Remarks by Mr. Bryan C. Basilio, Faculty Club President, who warmly welcomed the officers, guests, and stakeholders while emphasizing the importance of unity and shared responsibility in building a stronger school community. This was followed by the Statement of Purpose delivered by Dr. Freda B. Dayog, School Principal I, who highlighted the significance of servant leadership and collaboration in achieving the school's vision and mission. The highlight of the ceremony was the inspirational message and mass oath-taking administered by Dr. Rommel L. Manzano, School Principal IV of SPED Center, Baguio City, whose words encouraged every officer to lead with humility, accountability, and a genuine heart for service. During the Acceptance and Commitment segment, Sir. Noel C. Wansiyan, the newly elected SPTA President, delivered his acceptance message, while Maโ€™am Angela F. Gutierrez graciously delivered the message on behalf of the newly elected Project KAAGAPAY President Sir Aris S. Soriano, reaffirming their commitment to work hand in hand with the school in promoting programs that will benefit every learner and stakeholder.

The meaningful ceremony concluded with the Closing Remarks and Acknowledgment delivered by Walter S. Crisostomo, Master Teacher I, followed by a photo opportunity that captured the spirit of unity and celebration among the newly inducted officers, guests, and school personnel. A fellowship luncheon was then held at the Office of the School Principal, providing an opportunity for everyone to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and celebrate the beginning of another year of collaborative leadership and service. The school also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Fairview Barangay, headed by Barangay Captain Richard Jimenez, for its unwavering support and partnership in making the activity a success, ably represented during the program by Kagawad Leonard Bacani. Special appreciation is likewise extended to all the incoming SPTA and Project KAAGAPAY Program officers for their generous support, cooperation, and invaluable contributionsโ€”especially the delicious and sumptuous fellowship meal that added warmth, joy, and camaraderie to the occasion. Their collective efforts truly reflected the spirit of volunteerism and community partnership that continues to strengthen Fairview Elementary School.

Indeed, the Joint Induction Program was more than a ceremonial oath-takingโ€”it was a celebration of trust, shared purpose, and a renewed commitment to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and work together in creating a brighter future for every Fairview learner. As another school year begins, Fairview Elementary School remains steadfast in empowering leaders who inspire positive change and in nurturing partnerships that build a stronger, more united, and more resilient school community.

Fairview Elementary School continues to strengthen its disaster preparedness by regularly reviewing and assessing its evacuation plan to ensure the safety of learners and personnel. With ongoing infrastructure improvements and the school's single-exit building layout, the school recognizes the need to continuously enhance its emergency response procedures.

On July 27, 2026, under the leadership of Dr. Freda B. Dayog, School Principal and School DRRM Chairperson, and with the assistance of Sherielyn B. Mayao, School DRRM Coordinator, the school conducted an Earthquake Drill and evacuation plan assessment in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and BLGU-Fairview.

The activity evaluated the effectiveness of the school's evacuation procedures and identified strategies to improve disaster preparedness.

CDRRMO representatives Michael Angelo Singlot, Adrian Aswat, King Guinud, Myca Panilas, and Yuans Co provided technical expertise and recommendations to improve evacuation flow and strengthen the school's DRRM Plan. Kagawad Peter V. Yosayos likewise expressed the barangay's commitment to supporting the school's emergency response, particularly in implementing the secondary evacuation plan when necessary.

The assessment results were later discussed with the teaching personnel, who also shared their observations and recommendations for adoption.

The activity demonstrated the strong collaboration among Fairview Elementary School, the City DRRMO, and BLGU-Fairview in promoting a safer and more disaster-resilient learning environment.

District 8 school heads, namely: Juliet Mamaril of Bonifacio Elementary school, Freda Buking Dayog of Fairview Elementary school, Decky Mateo Beloken of Holyghost Extension Elementary school, Felto Agpawa and Christopher Chris Basing-at of Lucban Integrated School, Anjur Dee Junar Diguel of Pinsao Elementary school, Jane Marie Ngolab of Pinsao High School , and Edward Vicente of Guisad Valley High School gathered for a meaningful mentoring session led by our very own Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Soraya T. Faculo, together with Dr. Nancy B. Dumalili, Public Schools District Supervisor. The session focused on the sharing of real-life school cases and leadership experiences, allowing participants to exchange best practices and practical approaches in addressing challenges while ensuring learner welfare and sound decision-making.

A key highlight of the mentoring session was Dr. Faculo's discussion on understanding the root causes of learners' behavior. She emphasized that today's generation shows increasing dependence on gadgets, which can affect attention span, emotional regulation, social interaction, and classroom behavior. Recent studies, including the OECD (2025) and a 2025 Philippine study, indicate that excessive gadget use is associated with reduced attention, increased digital dependency, and behavioral concerns among learners, reinforcing the need for schools and families to work together in promoting responsible technology use.

Dr. Faculo also emphasized that understanding the underlying causes of learners' behaviorโ€”including the growing influence of gadget dependency among today's generationโ€”is essential in making sound and child-centered decisions.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer portion, where school heads openly shared experiences and learned from one another. Though time was limited, the mentoring session left every participant inspired and better equipped to lead with empathy, wisdom, and evidence-based practices in managing school concerns.
