Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School: A Legacy of Excellence

We're proud of our graduates who continue to show that success starts with a strong foundation. This year, two alumni have once again brought honor to the school community by excelling in rigorous entrance examinations.

The Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System released the official list of qualifiers on March 30, 2026, for the National Competitive Examination (NCE) for School Year 2026–2027 during the Pisay NCE 2026 Press Conference held at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Building in Quezon City. The NCE, administered nationwide in January 2026, is recognized as one of the most rigorous examinations for young learners aspiring to pursue advanced studies in science and technology.

Among the qualifiers is Kurtis Jared M. Sarol, who earned his place in the PSHS system, the country’s premier institution for science education. Likewise, Dyrhen Li N. Basali proudly qualified in the first batch of qualifiers for the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Program for incoming Grade 7 learners at Baguio City National Science High School for SY 2026–2027. In addition, Jaden Bad-ay successfully passed the entrance examination for the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) at Baguio City National Science High School, further highlighting the diverse talents and academic excellence of Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School learners.

These accomplishments are not isolated. In past years, other graduates of Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School have also successfully passed entrance examinations to Philippine Science High and Baguio City National Science High School, building a tradition of excellence that inspires current learners and future enrollees.

With dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and a nurturing environment, Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School continues to prepare learners for greater opportunities. For families seeking a school that values excellence, discipline, and holistic development, this institution stands as a beacon of hope—proving that from its classrooms, future leaders are born.

An inspiring message was delivered by Theresa S. Morgan, who reminded the teachers that their profession is not merely a duty but a sacred calling. She emphasized that every lesson taught with love carries a lasting impact, even when results are not immediately seen. She encouraged everyone to remain steadfast, drawing strength from faith, prayer, and community, and to trust that their efforts will bear fruit at the right time. Pastor Billy Morgan also shared a brief message, reinforcing the importance of perseverance and faith in fulfilling one’s calling.

The program included engaging activities that promoted unity, appreciation, and joy among the teachers. The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the invaluable role of women educators in shaping lives and building the future.

20 New Computers Installed at DMMES

The school recently received 20 new computer units through the City’s Smart Learning Communities Program, marking another step forward in improving digital access for its learners.

The installation and setup, including the internet and LAN connection, were successfully completed through the combined efforts of the Division Office ICT Team and interns from various universities. Their time, skills, and dedication were instrumental in making this project possible.

This upgrade comes at the perfect time as the school prepares for the Regional Achievement Test (RAT) scheduled in the 3rd week of February, ensuring that the students have a better and more efficient testing environment.

The school extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and contributed to this initiative. Your continued assistance helps strengthen learning in the school and the community.

Thank you very much!

Red Cross Youth Baguio City Inspires Young Lifesavers Through CPR Awareness

At Don Mariano Marcos Elementary School, the Red Cross Youth of Baguio City turned an ordinary school day into an extraordinary lesson on saving lives last January 28, 2026. With wide eyes and eager hands, Grades 4 to 6 learners discovered that even at their age, they could be heroes in emergencies.

Led by Jenelyn Terre, RMT, Officer-in-Charge, the CPR Awareness Activity introduced students to the SIRAABC guide: Survey the scene, Introduce yourself, Response, Activate medical terms, Airway, Breathing, and Circulation. The speaker broke down each step into simple, relatable actions, showing children how to check their surroundings, recognize danger, and respond with confidence. Learners were also taught to call 911 and tell the exact address/location, the number of the victim/patient, and the patient’s condition.
Students asked thoughtful questions—“What if someone doesn’t wake up?” or “How do we know if they’re breathing?”—and each answer was met with practical demonstrations. The atmosphere was a mix of curiosity and determination, as learners realized the importance of quick action in saving lives.

The event also drew the attention of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) officers, who joined the session to witness their children learning vital skills. Their presence underscored the shared responsibility of families and schools in building a culture of preparedness. Many parents expressed pride, noting that the training gave them reassurance that their children could respond in emergencies.

For Terre, the initiative was more than just a workshop. “Preparedness is not just about knowledge—it’s about instilling compassion and responsibility,” she emphasized. By teaching CPR to young learners, the Red Cross Youth hopes to nurture a generation that values service and readiness.
As the session ended, students carried with them more than just new information—they carried a sense of empowerment. The CPR Awareness Activity was a reminder that lifesaving skills are not reserved for adults; children, too, can make a difference.
With the support of educators, parents, and the Red Cross Youth, Baguio City’s young learners are now better prepared to face emergencies, proving that even the smallest hands can hold the power to save lives.
