The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of Negros Oriental successfully conducted its Regular Meeting presided over by NORPPO Provincial Director PCOL Timmar J Alam. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Negros Oriental, headed by Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, served as the Secretariat, providing technical and administrative support throughout the meeting on June 3, 2026, at Maringal Hall, NOrPPO, Agan-an, Sibulan.

Bringing together key member agencies and stakeholders to discuss matters vital to the maintenance of peace, order, and public safety in the province.

The meeting featured updates on the current peace and order situation from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Dr** Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and other PPOC member agencies. Discussions also covered significant agenda items, including the status of the submission of the FY 2026 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan Program of Works, the initial and unofficial results of the Anti-D*** Abuse Council assessment, and Provincial Management Coordinating Council Resolution No. 1, Series of 2026.

Through collaborative dialogue and inter-agency coordination, the PPOC continues to strengthen efforts toward promoting a safer, more secure, and resilient Negros Oriental for all its constituents.

The meeting served as an avenue to strengthen collaboration between the Dumaguete City and the DILG Negros Oriental to promote peace and order, public safety, and the government's anti-illegal dru** campaign. The DILG Negros Oriental, under the leadership of Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, participated in the DILG Negros Island Region Monday Convocation and Regional Flag Ceremony via Zoom on June 1, 2026.

The convocation commenced with the updates from the divisions of LGMED, LGCDD, RICTU, and PDMU. Regional Director Lailyn A. Ortiz, CESO IV, also provided important regional updates and guidance and introduced the newly promoted personnel of the DILG Negros Island Region.

Immediately following the regional convocation, DILG Negros Oriental conducted its Provincial Conference and Monday Flag Ceremony for the second quarter of 2026 at Maringal Hall, NOrPPO, Agan-an, Sibulan. Provincial Director Gentuya shared key updates, directives, and concerns with the provincial office personnel.

Likewise, updates on the implementation of ongoing programs, projects, and upcoming activities were presented by the respective section chiefs and unit heads. The Local Government Capability Development Section(LGCDS) and the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Section(LGMES) reported the successful and timely compliance of all required reports and deliverables for the quarter, demonstrating the officeโ€™s commitment to efficiency and accountability.

Under the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), updates were shared on the implementation of the Rice Distribution Project, as well as the status of ongoing infrastructure projects and initiatives funded under the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) program. These updates highlighted the continued efforts of DILG Negros Oriental in supporting local development and ensuring the effective delivery of government programs and services.

Administrative updates were also presented, recognizing the achievements of newly promoted personnel. The introduction of the Employees Database System was likewise a key highlight of the activity, aimed at improving records management, accessibility of information, and overall organizational efficiency.

Cluster 1 Head Anson L. Baroro and Cluster 2 Head Mark Joshua B. Quijote also shared updates from their respective clusters. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Negros Oriental, through the PDMU Engr II Terence Campugan under the leadership of Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, took part in the Validation and Technical Assessment of the proposed evacuation centers under the Ligtas Pinoy Center Program, particularly the Rank 1 and Rank 2 sites located in Bayawan City.

The activity commenced with a courtesy call with Bayawan City Mayor John T. Raymond, followed by the conduct of project site validation together with personnel from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and partner agencies. The assessment aimed to ensure that the proposed evacuation centers meet the necessary standards for safety, accessibility, resilience, and disaster preparedness in line with the governmentโ€™s commitment to protecting communities during emergencies and calamities.

Also present during the activity were Jhaeza E. Gantalao of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Engr. Vince Villaceran, CPDO personnel Vivitz Jane L. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Negros Oriental, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted a project site inspection of the completed Concreting of Local Road in Barangay Basiao, Municipality of San Jose on May 28, 2026.

The inspection was led by Engr. Elmer A. Barrera and Engr. Jesrelle A. Patenio under the supervision of Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, with the participation of Engr. James Conrad Futalan, Engineering Staff.

Funded under the FY 2024 Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) program with a total allocation of โ‚ฑ25,000,000.00, the project has now reached 100% physical accomplishment. Spanning approximately 1.061 kilometers, the completed road is expected to improve accessibility to the upland areas of Barangay Basiao and nearby communities, enhance mobility, stimulate local economic activities, and strengthen the delivery of basic government services to residents.

Gentuya, conducted a courtesy call to DILG Valencia LGOO VI Jeanette-Pauline Saonoy to discuss the status of Locally Funded Support Facility (LGSF) projects in the Municipality of Valencia, Negros Oriental.

The activity also included an on-site inspection together with personnel from the Municipal Engineering Office to monitor the implementation of infrastructure projects under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SDBP). Inspected projects included the completed concreting of Farm-to-Market Roads in Brgy. Lunga and Brgy. Malabo under SDBP UA 2024, as well as the ongoing concreting of Farm-to-Market Road project in Brgy. Bong-ao under SDBP 2026.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Negros Oriental, under the leadership of Provincial Director Farah Diba G. Gentuya, through LGOO III Klin C. Mendez, participated in the Provincial Anti-D*** Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting held on May 28, 2026 at the Conference Room, Convention Center, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City.

The meeting gathered key stakeholders and partner agencies to discuss updates, programs, and initiatives on the implementation of the Community-Based D*** Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP), Barangay D*** Clearing Program, and other anti-illegal d*** efforts in the province.

DILG Negros Oriental remains committed in strengthening collaboration with partner agencies towards promoting safer, d***- free, and resilient communities.
