📢 ANNOUNCEMENT | 2nd Annual Medical Health Examination

The Health Services Unit, in partnership with Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital, will conduct the 2nd Annual Medical Health Examination under the PhilHealth YAKAP Program on August 5–6, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the ASU Amphitheater, Banga, Aklan.

This activity is limited to ASU personnel who are registered with Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital as their PhilHealth YAKAP healthcare provider. Personnel who are not registered with the said healthcare provider will not be eligible to avail of the program.

The Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital Medical Team will be available to assist personnel with the PhilHealth Check Utility (PCU).

The ASU - Health Services Unit will also assist personnel with the use of the eGovPH application, particularly those who wish to register with Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital as their PhilHealth YAKAP healthcare provider.

📱 Reminder: To ensure a faster and smoother registration process, personnel who wish to avail of the program are encouraged to install the eGovPH application on their mobile devices before the scheduled medical health examination.

📌 Important Reminder: Please bring your PhilHealth ID and at least one (1) valid ID on the scheduled date of the medical health examination.

🦷Did You Know?

Poor oral health can lead to cavities, gum disease, bad breath, and tooth loss. It can also affect your overall health. Poor oral health may increase the risk of or be associated with heart disease, stroke, certain lung conditions, and complications of diabetes.

Why are they linked?
❤️ Heart Disease: Gum disease causes chronic inflammation, which has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
🧠 Stroke: Studies have found an association between periodontal disease (gum disease) and an increased risk of stroke.
🫁 Lung Conditions: Bacteria from the mouth can be inhaled into the lungs, increasing the risk of respiratory infections, such as pneumonia, especially in older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
🩸 Diabetes: The relationship is two-way. Diabetes increases the risk of gum disease, while severe gum disease can make it more difficult to control blood sugar levels.

Taking care of your teeth is simple:
✅ Brush your teeth three times a day with fluoride toothpaste.
✅ Floss daily.
✅ Limit sugary foods and drinks.
✅ Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and professional cleaning.

In view of the celebration of the 108th Founding Anniversary and 25th Charter Day of Aklan State University, classes and office transactions are hereby suspended on Monday, April 13, 2026.

𝟏. 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤
On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 (𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲), all classes and work in the University are suspended to give way to the anniversary celebration activities. Office transactions are likewise suspended on the said date.

𝟐. 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟖-𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞
From 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟒 - 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, all administrative offices shall revert to the standard 8-hour onsite work schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) in lieu of the compressed workweek arrangement.

An official memorandum will be issued for further details.

The entire ASU community and the public are hereby advised to be guided accordingly.
