βSafe, aware, and prepared: Thatβs a Batang Banicain!β
Banicain Elementary School successfully conducted a School Safety Drill and Awareness Orientation aimed at strengthening the preparedness, presence of mind, and proper emergency response of its learners and personnel.
The activity was held under the leadership of Mr. Froilan N. Rivas, Principal IV, and was facilitated by Mr. Rexell Cortez, School DRRM Coordinator, with the supervision and guidance of Mr. Erwin Castillejos, PDO II and Division DRRM Coordinator.
As part of the activity, the learners, teachers, and school personnel participated in a safety drill where they practiced the proper procedures to follow during emergencies. The exercise reminded everyone of the importance of remaining calm, alert, disciplined, and cooperative, especially in situations where quick and appropriate action can help protect lives.
An important orientation was also conducted on awareness and safety protocols during shooting incidents and other security threats. The discussion focused on helping members of the school community recognize possible dangers, respond appropriately, follow the instructions of school authorities and law enforcement personnel, and prioritize their safety during critical situations.
The school extends its sincere appreciation to Police Station 2, represented by PCPT Dennis Gruspe and PCpl Precious Mae Pascua, as well as the Olongapo City Mobile Force Company, represented by PCpl Michael John Ubaldo, Pat. Giselle Villareal, and Pat. Angela Trinidad. Their valuable knowledge, guidance, and presence made the activity more meaningful, informative, and relevant to the entire school community.
Also joining the activity were the Brgy. Kagawad Geraldo Pineda, SPTA officers, and the teaching and non-teaching personnel of Banicain Elementary School. Their active participation demonstrated the importance of strong cooperation among the school, families, law enforcement agencies, and community partners in creating a safe and protective environment for every learner.
Through this meaningful activity, Banicain Elementary School reaffirmed its commitment not only to disaster preparedness but also to the overall safety, protection, and well-being of its learners. By equipping children with the right knowledge and teaching them how to respond appropriately, the school helps them become more aware, confident, responsible, and prepared.
