The creation of Barobo Municipal High School now (Barobo National High School) was conceived in the year 1975 with the good intention of the late ABC President Eutiquio P. Jose Pantaleon Sr-school Head of Barobo Elementary School and councilor Rolando M. Ronquillo in the preparation of all the required reports relative to the establishment of a new high school until its operation. The said appli
cation for opening a high school was favorably endorsed by the late Mayor Merritt P. Goode on 1976 through a Resolution passed and adopted by the council to the Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of Surigao del Sur during the incumbency of the late Antonio A. Orozco who strongly recommended for the approval of the opening of the Barobo Municipal High School to the Regional Director Pedro O. San Vicente of the DECS, Region XI, Davao City. The first two year level curriculum was approved by virtue of the DECS Permit Nos.04 s. 1978 and Nos.11-R,s.1979 and No.12,s.1979 for the third year and fourth year levels with two (2) part time teachers and five (5) full time teachers under the supervision of the Asst Principal ,Mr. Ronquillo concurrent Principal- of Barobo Central elementary School from June 1978 to July 1982 prior to the promotion of the Asst. Principal as Vocational School Principal of Tagbina-Barobo National Agricultural High School, Tagbina, Surigao del Sur, thereby designating an OIC to manage the school. Teachers salaries and allowances were charged as 30%-70% basis where 30% from the Municipal Government and 70% from the national funds. The nationalization of Barobo Municipal High School renamed the school into Barobo National High School in the year 1986 managed by a Teacher-in-charge until 1994 with 100% national funding allocation for the teacher's salaries and allowances and other benefits, likewise, for maintenance and other operating expenses. In the year 1995, the school was under the supervision of a Principal- 1 and now as Principal-IV/ Designated Cluster Head comprising ten (10) secondary schools of Lianga-Barobo with strong manpower and recognized as one of the outstanding secondary schools of the division of Surigao del Sur, CARAGA Region Butuan City,likewise, one of the 282 DepEd recognized Tech-Voc Schools throughout the country as Agro-Trade School.At present , the school is categorized LEVEL-II ( progressive stage) in the SBM Practices due to the stakeholder's intensified collaborative efforts and functional School Governing Council (SGC) that transformed the School .
