BATO EXTENDS FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO STUDENT-ATHLETES FOR AREA V MEET 2026

In support of the young athletes who will carry the pride and colors of the municipality, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Bato, Leyte extended financial assistance to student-athletes who will represent Bato in the upcoming Area V Meet 2026.

The assistance aims to help address the needs of the participating athletes as they prepare to compete and represent the municipality in the different sporting events of the Area V Meet.

Beneficiaries of the financial support include student-athletes representing Bato East District and Bato West District at the elementary level, as well as athletes from Bato School of Fisheries, Bato National High School, Anahawan National High School, Buli National High School, and Dawahon Integrated School at the secondary level.

The initiative of the SK Federation of Bato, Leyte, headed by Hon. Jia Marie L. Adlawon, SK Federation President, was facilitated with the support of the Local Youth Development Officer and undertaken with the authority and support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Bryan Nile A. Gertos.

Beyond the financial assistance, the initiative sends a strong message to every young Batohanon athlete: you do not compete alone. Behind every training session, every sacrifice, and every game is a community that believes in your potential and takes pride in seeing you represent Bato.

As our student-athletes prepare for the Area V Meet 2026, may they carry with them not only the determination to win, but also the values of discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, and pride in representing their hometown.

To all our Batohanon athletes, give your best, play with heart, and make every moment count. The whole of Bato is rooting for you!

Young leaders from different organizations and communities came together for the 2nd ASTIG Young Movers Congressβ€”a day of learning, conversations, connections, and action.

From understanding our environment and climate, to recognizing hazards and risks, building resilience, and turning what we learned into youth climate actionβ€”the Congress reminded us that young people are not just witnesses to the challenges facing our communities.

We can be part of the response.

The Congress may be over, but being a Young Mover doesn't end when we leave the venue.

Two days. Different activities. One celebration of the Batohanon youth. ❀️

From getting our hands dirty during the Tree Planting 🌱, opening important conversations through the HIV Awareness Campaign ❀️, and bringing back the fun through Laro ng Lahi πŸ‡΅πŸ‡­ on August 23β€”

to showcasing the creativity, writing skills, and knowledge of our students through Poster Making, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Essay Writing, and Quiz Bee 🎨✍️🧠 on August 25β€”

Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 has been full of moments worth remembering.

Different schools.
Different barangays.
Different organizations.
Different talents and stories.

But when we come together, we see exactly what this year's theme is all about:

β€œDifferent Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

After a morning of service and learning, syempreβ€”oras na para magdula!

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Kick-Off Activity last August 23, 2026, our young Batohanons brought the energy to Laro ng Lahi at Brgy. Anahawan, Bato, Leyte!

From friendly competition to unexpected moves, cheers, and endless laughter, the games reminded us that sometimes the best way to bring young people together is simply to play, connect, and enjoy the moment.

More than winning, Laro ng Lahi was about teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, and keeping our traditional Filipino games alive for another generation. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡­

Awareness starts with the right informationβ€”and conversations like these matter.

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Kick-Off Activity last August 23, 2026, young Batohanons gathered for an HIV Awareness Campaign aimed at creating a safe and open space to learn about HIV, prevention, responsible choices, and the importance of ending stigma and discrimination.

For the youth, knowing the facts means being better equipped to make informed decisionsβ€”not only for ourselves, but also for the people around us. ❀️

Daghang salamat to our resource speakers for sharing their time and knowledge, and to our SK Chairpersons, LYDC member-organizations, youth participants, partners, and volunteers for being part of this important conversation.

We started Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 by getting our hands on the groundβ€”literally! πŸ’š

Last August 23, 2026, young Batohanons came together in Brgy. Anahawan for our Tree Planting Activity, one of the activities that officially kicked off this year's LNK celebration.

More than planting seedlings, the morning was about showing that caring for our environment also starts with showing up and doing our part. 🌱

Daghang salamat sa our youth participants, SK Chairpersons, LYDC member-organizations, partners, and volunteers who joined us early in the morning and made the activity possible.

Special thanks to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) for providing the tree seedlings, and to everyone who helped us put this activity into action. πŸ’š

Small actions today can grow into something bigger tomorrow. 🌳
