August 7, 2025, an actual site/farm visit of the Trainees from SEAFDEC/AQD in Binangonan Rizal. This activity is part of their 5 days training in Freshwater Aquaculture.

Ms. Melanie G. Briones, Senior Aquaculturist in BFAR FDFF presented the station's profile and the mandate of the facility to orient the visitors, followed by a farm tour headed by the OIC-Station Chief and other technical staff.

Naisagawa ang matagumpay na pagtatapos sa kanilang "200 hours On-the-Job Training" ang labing-limang (15) mga mag aaral ng Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences mula sa Batangas State University ARASOF.

Malaking bahagi ng pagkakaroon ng kaalaman tungkol sa Aquaculture ang kanilang pagsasanay sa aktuwal na pamamaraan. Bagama't ito'y may mga limitasyon dahil sa mga nagdaang bagyo at sama ng panahon, nagdulot parin ito ng malaking bahagi sa kanilang pag aaral.

Malugod na binati ng ating butihing Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas ang mga mag-aaral sa kanilang pagtatapos sa pagsasanay at nagpahayag ng patuloy na pagsuporta sa larangan ng pagsasanay patungkol sa Pangisdaan.

Bilang bahagi ng mga pagsasanay na binibigay sa mga estudyante na nagsasagawa ng kanilang "On-the-Job" Training sa ating Technology Outreach Station, ay gumanap ng iba't ibang Laboratory Analysis, kabilang dito ang Water Quality Analysis, Phytoplankton and Zooplankton Identification, and Parasitological Analysis.

Ang mga mag-aaral ay mula sa Batangas State University-ARASOF (BS Fisheries) at LSPU San Pablo (BS Biology).

The Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) has received an unqualified opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) for the third consecutive year—2022, 2023, and 2024—on its Annual Audit Report. The audit covered the accounts and operations of the Bureau, including its Central Office and 16 Regional Field Offices.

“We express our appreciation for the recent findings of the Commission on Audit. BFAR remains committed to upholding the highest standards in financial management to continuously serve the Philippine fisheries sector with integrity and accountability,” said BFAR National Director Elizer S. Salilig.

In its report, COA stated that the "audit evidence obtained was sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for the unqualified opinion."

“In our opinion, the accompanying financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of BFAR as of December 31, 2024, as well as its financial performance, cash flows, changes in net assets/equity, and comparison of budget and actual amounts for the year then ended, in accordance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards,” the state auditors reported.

The popular sardine Tawilis and other types of fish found in Taal Lake are safe for human consumption, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Calabarzon said amid claims that the bodies of missing sabungeros or cockfighters were thrown into its waters.

BFAR Calabarzon Regional Director Sammy Malvas emphasized that tawilis, along with other commonly consumed fish such as tilapia and bangus from the lake, are safe to eat.
