VALEROSO WINS 3RD PLACE IN GUHIT BULILIT
Young BCES artist shines at District Festival of Talents

BAY, LAGUNA - Bay Central Elementary School (BCES) secures third place in Guhit Bulilit – Kindergarten during the 2026 District Festival of Talents held on August 27, 2026, at Sto. Domingo Elementary School.

Young artist Xyrah Ellis L. Valeroso of Kinder Narra proudly represents BCES in the competition, showcasing her creativity, confidence, and artistic skills through her entry.

Guided by her adviser, Lyn M. Elpedama, Valeroso earns recognition among participating kindergarten learners, bringing pride to BCES through her impressive performance in the district-level talent showcase.

The achievement reflects the school’s continued support for young learners as they develop their talents and express themselves through art.

Dr. Maricar A. Afuang, school principal, joins the BCES community in celebrating Valeroso’s accomplishment and recognizing the efforts of her adviser in nurturing the young artist’s potential.

Gamboa, Quintos lead BCES in first Bay Sub-Office STEMAZING tilt

BAY, LAGUNA — Bay Central Elementary School (BCES) clinches the championship title in the first STEMAZING competition among elementary schools in the Bay Sub-Office on August 24, 2026, at Bay Central Elementary School.

The competition gathers Key Stage 2 learners from different schools across the Bay Sub-Office, who showcase their knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Principal Coordinator in Mathematics Dr. Maricar A. Afuang and Principal Coordinator in Science Brenda Lyn Martinez lead the activity, with the support of Public Schools District Supervisors Prima Cecilia Ilagan and Dr. Babylyn M. Gadaza.

The event opens with a program led by Dr. Afuang, who welcomes the participating learners, teachers, and school representatives. Teachers from various schools in the Bay Sub-Office serve as facilitators, guiding the contestants throughout the competition.

Following the opening program, the participants take on the STEMAZING challenge sessions, where they apply their STEM knowledge and skills to various tasks that test their critical thinking, teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.

BCES secures the championship title through its learners, Kaleb Gamboa and Ainna Quintos, who compete under the guidance of their coaches, Ma’am Sonia B. Tamayo and Ma’am Ma. Concepcion Nathalie Quintos.

Paciano Rizal Elementary School captures second place, while San Antonio Elementary School places third in the inaugural competition.

The victory makes BCES the first STEMAZING champion among elementary schools in the Bay Sub-Office, highlighting its learners’ ability to apply STEM concepts to solve problems through collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking.

Beyond the competition, the inaugural STEMAZING event strengthens the commitment of Bay Sub-Office schools to provide meaningful learning opportunities that nurture essential STEM skills among young learners.

33 CAMPUS JOURNALISTS QUALIFY FOR DIVISION MEET

Bay Central Elementary School named 1st Best Performing Elementary School in Journalism

Bay Central Elementary School emerged as the top-performing elementary school in journalism during the 2026 Bay Sub-Office Schools Press Conference held on August 22, 2026, at Nicolas Galvez Memorial Integrated National High School.

Out of the school’s 46 participating young journalists, an impressive 33 earned slots as division qualifiers, showcasing their skills, creativity, and dedication across various campus journalism categories.

The remarkable feat also earned Bay Central Elementary School the distinction of being the 1st Best Performing Elementary School in Journalism, affirming its strong culture of campus journalism and commitment to developing young writers and broadcasters.

The achievement reflects the collective efforts of the student-journalists, teacher-coaches, and school leadership who worked together in honing the learners’ journalistic skills and preparing them for the competition.

With 33 qualifiers advancing to the division level, Bay Central Elementary School once again proved that its young journalists are ready to carry their school’s banner to a bigger stage.

The qualifiers will now move forward to the Division Schools Press Conference, bringing with them not only their winning stories but also the lessons, experiences, and determination gained from the sub-office competition.

From 46 hopefuls to 33 qualifiers, Bay Central Elementary School continues to write its story of excellence in campus journalism.

Sa pagsasanib ng wika at makabagong teknolohiya, patuloy nating pinauunlad ang kakayahan sa pananaliksik, pagkatuto, at pagbabahagi ng impormasyon tungo sa mas makabuluhang komunikasyon.
