BAY CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLAIMS STEMAZING CROWN
Gamboa, Quintos lead BCES in first Bay Sub-Office STEMAZING tilt
BAY, LAGUNA — Bay Central Elementary School (BCES) clinches the championship title in the first STEMAZING competition among elementary schools in the Bay Sub-Office on August 24, 2026, at Bay Central Elementary School.
The competition gathers Key Stage 2 learners from different schools across the Bay Sub-Office, who showcase their knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Principal Coordinator in Mathematics Dr. Maricar A. Afuang and Principal Coordinator in Science Brenda Lyn Martinez lead the activity, with the support of Public Schools District Supervisors Prima Cecilia Ilagan and Dr. Babylyn M. Gadaza.
The event opens with a program led by Dr. Afuang, who welcomes the participating learners, teachers, and school representatives. Teachers from various schools in the Bay Sub-Office serve as facilitators, guiding the contestants throughout the competition.
Following the opening program, the participants take on the STEMAZING challenge sessions, where they apply their STEM knowledge and skills to various tasks that test their critical thinking, teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.
BCES secures the championship title through its learners, Kaleb Gamboa and Ainna Quintos, who compete under the guidance of their coaches, Ma’am Sonia B. Tamayo and Ma’am Ma. Concepcion Nathalie Quintos.
Paciano Rizal Elementary School captures second place, while San Antonio Elementary School places third in the inaugural competition.
The victory makes BCES the first STEMAZING champion among elementary schools in the Bay Sub-Office, highlighting its learners’ ability to apply STEM concepts to solve problems through collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking.
Beyond the competition, the inaugural STEMAZING event strengthens the commitment of Bay Sub-Office schools to provide meaningful learning opportunities that nurture essential STEM skills among young learners.
