The DILG has streamlined the approval of foreign travel requests of local officials and personnel, with the revised mechanism taking effect September 7, 2026.

The DILG Agusan del Sur Provincial Office successfully conducted the 2026 AgSOARlympics, a two-day sports and wellness activity in celebration of Civil Service Month. The event brought together DILG personnel and staff across the province to promote employee wellness, strengthen camaraderie, and foster teamwork.

The DILG Bayugan City Family, as part of Cluster 1 โ€“ Red Bakunawa, proudly represented the First Congressional District of Agusan del Sur together with DILG personnel from Esperanza, Prosperidad, San Francisco, San Luis, Sibagat, and Talacogon. Through unity, determination, and sportsmanship, the team emerged victorious and was hailed as the Overall Champion, successfully defending its title from the inaugural 2025 AgSOARlympics.

The participation of the DILG Bayugan City Family was made possible through the unwavering support of the City Government of Bayugan, led by City Mayor Kirk A. Asis, Vice Mayor Hon. Kim A. Asis, the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members headed by Hon. Kim Lope "Bobong" A. Asis, and the Barangay Officials under the leadership of Liga ng mga Barangay City President Hon. Niรฑa A. Asis. Their steadfast support for initiatives that promote employee wellness, teamwork, and professional development is deeply appreciated.

The DILG Bayugan City likewise extends its heartfelt appreciation to the DILG Agusan del Sur Provincial Office for continuing the AgSOARlympics, which has become more than just an annual sporting event. It is now a meaningful tradition that strengthens teamwork, builds lasting camaraderie, promotes employee wellness, and reinforces the spirit of One DILG in delivering responsive, effective, and people-centered public service.

Ang tema ng pagdiriwang ngayong taon ay "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon". Ang pagdiriwang ay nakatugon sa Pampanguluhang Proklamasyon Blg. 1041 s. 1997 na nagpapahayag ng taunang pagdiriwang tuwing Agosto 1-31 bilang Wikang Pambansa, at naglalayon na maiangat ang kamalayan ng mga mamamayang Pilipino ukol sa wika at kasaysayn nito.
