09.29.2026|NDEP Campaign, Safety Drill and SLAC

On September 29, 2026, BES conducted a School-Based National Drug Education Program (NDEP) Campaign and Safety Drill, followed by a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) for teachers.

The Grades 4–6 learners participated in an informative IEC session facilitated by PSMS Herman K. Pay-an, focusing on Preventive Drug Education, Anti-Bullying, and safety preparedness. The learners were also guided on appropriate actions during possible emergency situations in school through a safety drill.

The teachers also participated in a SLAC session to further strengthen their knowledge and preparedness in promoting a safe, supportive, and drug-free school environment.

Through these activities, BES continues to equip both learners and teachers with the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to respond responsibly to safety concerns and help create a secure learning environment.

09.22.2026| SLAC on Food Handling and Safety

Today, Balatoc Elementary School and Acupan Elementary School conducted a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) on Food Handling and Safety for our canteen food handlers and feeding personnel.

The activity was attended by the canteen helpers, all teaching personnel of both schools, and feeding cooks who are parents of Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners.

Our sincere appreciation to our resource speaker, School Nurse Febelyn Acbayaan, for sharing her knowledge and practical reminders on proper food handling, food hygiene, sanitation, and safety.

This learning session helps strengthen our commitment to providing safe, clean, and nutritious food for our learners.

We sincerely thank the DOH-Cordillera (Health Promotion Unit, PDOHO-Benguet) and DepEd Cordillera for their guidance, assistance, and support during the HLI regional pre-validation, especially in the review and completion of our Means of Verification (MOVs).

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to all the Balatoc ES and Acupan ES personnel, led by Mrs. Rose M. Acay and Mrs. Jocelyn Buslotan, together with School nurse Fe Acbayaan, the PTA President of both schools, and the parents , whose cooperation, dedication, and bayanihan made this achievement possible.

Acupan ES and Balatoc ES conducted a Joint INSET on the Preparation of Action Research and Innovation Proposal on September 10, 2026, at Balatoc Elementary School.

Despite the suspension of classes, teachers continued to learn and collaborate through a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session.

The session focused on:
1️⃣ Preparation of Action Plans, Proposals, and Accomplishment Reports
2️⃣ PMES Objectives and Expected Outputs for SY 2026–2027

A productive day of professional learning, planning, and preparation as we work together toward better teaching and improved learner outcomes.

06.22.2026|Safety and Anti-Bullying IEC at Balatoc Elementary School

During the Monday flag raising ceremony, personnel from the PNP Virac conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on traffic safety tips and anti-bullying awareness.

The learners were reminded about the importance of staying safe, showing respect to others, and helping create a school environment free from bullying.

06.11.2026| Balatoc ES Parent-Teacher Summit and School Learning Action Cell (SLAC)

Balatoc ES successfully conducted a productive, two-part event on June 11, 2026, focusing on stakeholder collaboration and professional teacher development to prepare for School Year 2026–2027.

The morning session engaged parents, local officials, and health partners through various briefings. School Principal Rose M. Acay discussed the three-term school calendar and school policies. Mr. Norman Alberto (ALS Teacher) shared ALS updates. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) delivered safety reminders. Ma'am Jorenda (School PDO) discussed school operations. Kagawad Teodoro P. Balanza pledged community support. A doctor provided medical guidance and BNS and BHWs conducted student height and weight assessments.

In the afternoon, teachers underwent professional development to align instructional strategies for the upcoming school year. The training focused on: Simplified Lesson Planning, Learning Design, Classroom Assessments, Grading System, Awards and Recognitions.

The day concluded with renewed alignment between school administrators, community health leaders, local officials, and educators, setting a firm foundation for the school year.

The teachers and staff of Balatoc Elementary School successfully conducted their Wellness Activity in Baler and Dipaculao, Aurora Province from May 29–31, 2026. This meaningful activity provided an opportunity to relax, strengthen camaraderie, and promote the well-being of all personnel.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who extended their financial support and generosity, especially the Virac Barangay Council and staff, Pastor Mario Babalke, Mr. Renato Camado, Sir Joel Maryongan, Sir Denis Cayat, to the drivers who ensured our safe and comfortable travel throughout the trip and all BES teachers and staff who contributed to the success of this activity.

Your kindness and support are truly appreciated. Thank you for being part of this memorable and enriching experience.
