The awarding of winners and participants led by the SSLG and the school head in the recent "Killing me Softly" (A Pinikpikan Cooking Contest) held at Twin Peaks National High School last December 15, 2023.

Grade 10-B got the first prize and they were given two cakes, second place was Grade 8-B and 3rd place was 10-C and they were given 1 cake each. While 11-B and 12-A were given 18 cupcakes each as consolation. All participants were also given a certificate of recognition and participation. Congratulations!

The Philippines celebrates the earliest, the longest, and the most enchanting Christmas season in the world. Filipinos celebrate the holiday through colorful lights and decorations, Simbang Gabi, family gatherings, and most especially delicious foods. Twin Peaks National High School has been celebrating Christmas in a very simple yet meaningful sharing of gifts and sumptuous lunches from voluntary donations and contributions.
On occasions like this, Pinikpikan has never been neglected on the table. Pinikpikan is a delicacy in the Cordilleras. It came from the word pikpik, meaning to lightly beat before cooking. This brings blood to the surface of the chicken’s flesh, thus improving the flavor of the chicken after cooking. Meanwhile, since most of the classes will be preparing Pinikpikan, the SSLG officers would like to take the opportunity to take it into a cooking competition. In addition, the dishes will be eaten by the class as they were planned to be. To match the splendid dish, the prizes would be desserts for the entire winning class.
The SSLG officers are one with the School in promoting culture and heritage for the holistic development of its learners.

NEW SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR ATHLETES' DEVELOPMENT

LOOK: The SSLG led by Sam Javier and SSLG adviser Kenneth Luquey turned over the athletes' new equipment. This includes 2 volleyball balls, 1 volleyball net, 4 table tennis rackets, 60 ping-pong balls, 1 chess clock, 1 chessboard and 1 shuttle c**k tube.

These will help for the training of TPNHS athletes who will participate in the upcoming District Meet 2023.

LOOK | The first meeting of the SSLG and Presidents of different clubs and organizations(sports, BKD, NEP, YES-O, RCYC) of Twin Peaks National High School regarding their upcoming activities and projects for the school.

The meeting was facilitated by Sam Javier-SSLG President and his adviser Kenneth Joe Luquey.

LOOK | The Awis di Gangsa (ADG) of Evilio Javier Memorial National High School (EJMNHS) and the TPNHS Cultural Group merged as one to represent the municipality of TUBA and compete with the other 13 municipalities of Benguet for the opening of ADIVAY 2023 (November 11, 2023) at Sports Complex, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The merging of the two groups became possible with the help of Maam Roxanne Baliton of EJMNHS and Mr. Hagard Wayan - an alumni of TPNHS. They both served as their coach and director during their 4-day practice at TPNHS. Furthermore, the officers of SSLG-TPNHS headed by Mr. Sam Javier (president) also helped with the preparation of their props to be used during the event.
