Highlighting Agriculture and Culture: The 2nd Dukto Festival in Brgy. Taba-ao, Kapangan.

Held on May 25, 2026, the rich agricultural heritage and vibrant culture of Barangay Taba-ao took center stage during the successful celebration of the 2nd Dukto Festival. The event put a well-deserved spotlight on the community's premier product, the "Dukto" (sweet potato), while also promoting other locally made goods crafted by the hardworking people of Taba-ao.

The activity was graced by Vice Governor Marie Rose T. Fongwan-Kepes and Chief Tourism Operations Officer Eleazar B. Carias, who expressed their support for grassroots tourism initiatives and sustainable local livelihoods in Benguet.

In celebration of Heritage Month, cultural workers, elders, tourism officers, and IPMRs from the 13 municipalities on May 21 gathered for a workshop on cultural protocols and the Schools of Living Tradition (SLT), with the guidance of Sir Jimmy Fong.

The activity, made possible through the support and approval of Gov. Melchor Daguines Diclas, aims to document and preserve indigenous traditions and practices, strengthen SLT implementation, and support future cultural preservation policies.
Also in attendance are Vice Governor Marie Rose T. Fongwan-Kepes and Board Members Benjamin G. Palbusa, Armando I. Lauro , Jim G. Botiwey, Romeo K. Salda, Ruben L. Tindaan, Johannes A. Amuasen, Mary Joy Fermin.

Mt. Kabunian will officially REOPEN for trekking activities tomorrow, May 08, 2026!
Pursuant to Executive Order No. 33, Series of 2026, the temporary suspension of trekking activities at Mt. Kabunian has been lifted. We are excited to once again welcome hikers, nature lovers, and adventure seekers to experience the breathtaking beauty of Mt. Kabunian.
