***SINING SINE BIÑAN SHORT FILM COMPETITION***
IN CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL HISTORY MONTH - AUGUST 2018
In order to provide platform to all aspiring Biñanense filmmakers and to grant opportunity to expose their talents, the City Government of Biñan through the Biñan City Culture, History, Arts and Tourism Office (BCHATO) is inviting Biñanenses of all ages to join the “Sining Sine Biñan Short Film Competition” – a competition in line with the celebration of the National History Month 2018 (August). The competition serves to encourage every Biñanenses to develop their creativity and originality in storytelling via film as a medium of expression.
RULES:
1. The entrants (director, screenwriter and majority of the actors) must be Biñan residents, no age limit.
2. An entry must have a maximum total time of eight (8) minutes, minimum of six (6) minutes including opening and closing credits.
3. The entry must revolve around the theme “Kasaysayan: Tuklasin, Mahalin, Palaganapin” and “Biñan: Buhay ang Nakaraan, Sumasalubong sa Hinaharap”.
4. Any film entry which has been shown in any regular, advance or preview screening for valuable consideration whether in movie theaters, television or other media or venue, shall be disqualified.
5. In accordance to the copyright laws, music used in any entry must be original, licensed or in the public domain.
6. The decision of the Board of Jurors is final and irrevocable.
7. BCHATO reserves the right to create, revoke, and modify at any time, in any way its entry requirements, rules and regulations at its absolute discretion without prior notice. Finalists and submitted entries shall be bound by any amendments or addition to the entry requirements, rules and regulations herewith.
8. The film once officially submitted shall be BCHATO’s ownership thus the entrants waive their rights over the film entry.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The following requirements must be submitted on or before August 12, 2018 at the Sentrong Pangkultura ng Biñan, Plaza Rizal, Brgy. Poblacion, Biñan City (kindly look for Jasper De Guzman):
1. Duly accomplished entry form;
2. Photocopy of Voters ID and Barangay Residency Certificate of the director and screenwriter;
3. One-page synopsis of the movie including the names of artistic, production-technical team and actors;
4. Please submit the following in USB:
-The final movie entry in mp4 format.
-Movie poster (18x20in), jpeg and psd file.
-Thirty-second movie trailer in mp4 format.
SELECTION OF FINALISTS:
Ten (10) entries will be chosen as Finalists to be announced on August 17, 2018 via BCHATO Official page.
AWARDS:
1. Best Film - P20,000.00 + Inang Biñan Trophy

August 3-12 - Call for Entries
August 17 - Announcement of Finalists (Via BCHATO Official FB Page)
August 20-30 - Official Showing of Entries and Official Judging (Entries shall be uploaded in BCHATO Official Youtube Page); Entrants are encouraged to share the link in various social media sites during this period; a special award shall be given for the entry with highest number of views; BCHATO shall organize film viewing activities in schools and barangays too.
August 31 - Awarding Ceremony
