The activity gathered Barangay Tanods from the city's 24 barangays to strengthen their knowledge and skills in maintaining peace and order, as well as in supporting the effective implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay system.
The program commenced with the opening preliminaries, followed by a welcome message from ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ข๐จ ๐. ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐จ, Liga ng mga Barangay President. ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐
๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐จ ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฒ, City Mayor, delivered his inspirational message, emphasizing the indispensable role of Barangay Tanods as the first line of defense in ensuring safe, peaceful, and resilient communities.
The learning sessions featured discussions on the fundamentals of Katarungang Pambarangay and the proper appreciation of Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) Forms, facilitated by ๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, LGOO III, who discussed the overview, history, organizational structure, and proper utilization of KP forms in barangay dispute resolution.
In the afternoon, ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐๐จ facilitated discussions on the jurisdiction, venue, and processes of the Katarungang Pambarangay, as well as the proper ex*****on of barangay justice procedures. An open forum provided participants with the opportunity to raise practical concerns and clarify issues encountered in the performance of their duties.
The activity highlighted the importance of equipping Punong Barangay, Barangay Secretary, members of Lupon ng Tagapamayapa and Barangay Tanods with the necessary competencies to effectively support barangay officials in maintaining peace and order, promoting alternative dispute resolution, and ensuring the efficient delivery of basic services at the grassroots level.
