Aligned with the United Nations’ SDG #14: Life below water — that aims to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. The 21st Special Forces Company (Riverine) in partnership with JCI Bohol Sandugo, Municipal Agriculture Office of Maribojoc, LGU Maribojoc, Bohol, Philippine Fun Divers, Inc., Red Cross - Bohol Chapter, and other free diver volunteers.
BAI The Sea 2.0 — successfully initiated projects by collecting broken, unused, and abandoned knick-knacks, including waste glass from people and restaurants, which then grind into smaller bits and mix with cement and sand to create hollow blocks for building the artificial reef. This reef restoration method was used to rebuild damaged coral reefs so they can maintain healthy, sustainable ecosystems. Coral reefs suffer damage from a number of natural and man-made causes, and efforts are being made to rectify the damage and restore the reefs. Coral restoration assist the recovery of the reef’s structure or functionality that has been degraded or destroyed. This sustainable process helps reduce waste while rebuilding marine ecosystems. After the successful building of number of artificial fish condos, it has been followed by the release of “1,000 baby milkfish “into the waters, taking another step toward securing the livelihood of our local fisher folk and supporting long-term ecological balance.
By strengthening partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders, inspiring hope for a greener and more sustainable future. Additionally, this project ensure that no plastic was included in the bottles, keeping our reef construction as eco-friendly as possible.
