BAMBOO MONITORING AT BARANGAY BUANGAN, CANDAJEC, NAHAWAN, AND TUBOD 🌱🌿🪵

Following the bamboo planting activity conducted by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Clarin in September 2025, a bamboo monitoring activity was carried out on July 1, 2026, to assess the growth and condition of the planted bamboo seedlings. The activity was spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Eugeniano E. Ibarra through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), headed by EnP. Kathleen Tupas Lebita, in collaboration with the Drrmo Clarin and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Team–Clarin Station.

In connection with, this month of July, the country observes National Disaster Resilience Month. Resilience is not just a word; it is a commitment and a call to action. A commitment to safeguard our communities and through our actions we can protect our environment and support conservation initiatives--that means our individual actions can make a significant difference.

In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, Philippine Arbor Day on June 25, and the Province’s Sandugo of Bohol Celebration. On June 25, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Clarin spearheaded by Municipal Mayor Engr. Eugeniano E. Ibarra thru Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) EnP. Kathleen Tupas Lebita conducted mangrove rehabilitation to restore the damages and robust the conversation at Clarin Wharf, Poblacion Norte, Clarin,Bohol. It seeks to restore the mangroves, strengthen the natural barrier and give communities the means they need to preserve.

This activity is collaborative efforts of Provincial Government of Bohol thru Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Tagbilaran, and other TFU partners.

We came together to protect, restore, and preserve Bohol’s environment for future generations.🍀🌿🍃🌿🌱

On June 9, 2026, Site Assessment was conducted at Poblacion Norte and Bonbon, Clarin, Bohol with the Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office and Bohol Island State University-Clarin Campus, in the preparation for the upcoming Mangrove Growing Activity (Trees for Unity) on June 25, 2026 in celebration of ARBOR Day.

This ARBOR activity is headed by Municipal Mayor Engr. Eugeniano E. Ibarra thru the efforts of Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) EnP. Kathleen Tupas Lebita and team.

Arbor Day is a special occasion dedicated to planting and protecting trees. In the Philippines, it is celebrated every June 25 to promote environmental awareness and highlight the importance of conserving nature.

The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), led by EnP. Kathleen T. Lebita and team, in coordination with Municipal Mayor Eugeniano E. Ibarra, successfully conducted the Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Monitoring and Evaluation for 24 barangays and school-based programs on March 31, 2026. The evaluation included distribution of ESWM leaflets, dissemination of the ESWM Official Jingle via email or flash drive, and on-site visits to households, barangays, and school Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) and compost pits. The ESWM team provided scoring evaluations and guidance to the barangays, identifying areas for improvement. This initiative, supported by the ESWM unit of the Local Government Unit of Clarin, promotes sustainable environmental practices and contributes to a greener world.

Date: March 31, 2026

A meeting was convened, led by Municipal Mayor Eugeniano E. Ibarra. The meeting, comprising the deliberation on the presentation of the Forest Land Use Plan (FLUP) draft to the steering committee, facilitated constructive discussions and garnered valuable inputs from committee. The draft was subsequently submitted to DENR-CENRO for review, with the participation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), marking a significant milestone in the planning process.
