Pondohan, is a small, peaceful, united mountinuos sitio located at Upper Becceril, Municipality of Boljoon, Southeastern Cebu, Philippines, It bounded by neighboring baragays and sitio of Cansumap-ang, Ylaya, Lunop and the mountain range of above Pondohan. The word Pondohan coined from cebuano word "Pondo" which means "stay". As i seek the history of my ancestors, it derives from "staying for how
many months of Japanese Army who came in this place and make as the base camps" in cebuano dialect, it termed as "Pondohanan sa mga Hapon" in the past several year ago. Pondohan have rich of past cuture and traditions that have been use until now, our worship, the harmonous relationship towards neighborhood, and giving importance of the natures gifts. As a part of that culture, we celebrate the feast every third week of May with the honor of Sta Cruz. Pondohan is estamated about 12 km far from the Poblacion, Boljoon. It can be reach taking aspalted road by walking or riding a motorcycle/"habal-habal" and jeepney everyday. Pondohan known of its Pottery and Palanas Mountain Resort and Mini Zoo sorounded by green forest and fresh air. The main livelihood of Ponduhan is farming, copra, livestock and sari-sari stores. Pondohan have their own "taboan; located in Hinagob where you can meet our fellow Pondohanuns, play basketball and volleyball, taste our food delicacy and admire the friendly Ponduhanuns. Pondohanuns takes thier study in Pondohan Elementary School, And for Pre school we have our Pondohan Day Care Center and finish their studies of secondary in Boljoon National High School. Pondohan is nice location for restting and outing or in vacation, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, meet friendly Pondohanuns. Feel the essence of the Pondohan pride while you see the natural beatiful gift of nature, feel the harmonous and silent at night, hear the sweet tweet of flying free birds in the morning, and feel the cold touching air in the sunset..
