Solis, Education Program Supervisor for Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC)/Guidance, on her first official visit as the newly designated Area Monitoring Supervisor, together with Dr. Edgardo L. Camacho, Public Schools District Supervisor, to provide technical assistance and strengthen school governance, personnel accountability, and values education in selected schools within the district.
The supervisory team conducted school visits and provided technical assistance to E. Gotangco Elementary School, headed by Mr. Reynaldo B. "Magandang Buhay, Mabuting Tao po!"
"Mabuting Tao, Ako po 'Yun!"
The initiative seeks to foster respect, responsibility, and positive behavior among learners while strengthening character formation and supporting the Department of Education's commitment to holistic learner development.

NEWS || LGU BONGABON CONVENES MULTI-SECTORAL SCHOOL SAFETY COORDINATION MEETING AMID RECENT SECURITY INCIDENTS IN PHILIPPINE SCHOOLS

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija — In response to the recent security incidents and acts of violence reported in several schools across the Philippines, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bongabon, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ricardo Padilla, spearheaded a Multi-Sectoral School Safety Coordination Meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, 8 o’clock in the morning, at the Mayor's Office, Municipal Hall of Bongabon. The initiative gathered representatives from the local government, the Department of Education (DepEd), and key education stakeholders to collaboratively strengthen school safety and security measures across the municipality.

Mayor Padilla presided over the meeting, emphasizing that ensuring safe and secure learning environments requires a unified effort among the LGU, DepEd, law enforcement agencies, barangays, and the community. To guide the discussions, he initiated the Project SAPA-DAPPA framework and assigned Municipal Project Leaders Engr. Maximino Gervacio, Administrative Officer Prudencio Elegado, and Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Gideon David F. Padilla to lead the Situation Analysis, Problem Analysis, Decision Analysis, and Probable Problem Analysis. The structured approach enabled participants to identify security concerns, assess potential risks, and formulate practical and sustainable interventions.

During the coordination meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive risk assessment and exchanged both conventional and innovative strategies to address emerging security challenges in schools. Among the key recommendations were the deployment of Barangay Tanods during learners' arrival and dismissal to enhance security visibility and provide immediate assistance around school premises.

The Municipal Engineering Office likewise committed to conducting regular inspections of all schools, including the assessment of school facilities, perimeter safety, and the installation and maintenance of safety signages to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Highlighting the importance of emergency preparedness, Ms. Jayne Ramos emphasized the need for every school to establish and regularly practice effective lockdown procedures and emergency exit protocols to ensure that learners and school personnel can respond safely during critical situations.

Mayor Padilla also presented the municipality's plan to expand the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in strategic areas from Lusok to the Poblacion of Bongabon to strengthen surveillance, improve monitoring around school zones, and support the municipality's peace and order initiatives.

The meeting further emphasized the importance of equipping learners with knowledge of standardized emergency signal communication systems for fires, earthquakes, and other natural hazards through regular orientation and simulation drills.
To reinforce preventive security measures, Bongabon National High School Principal, Mrs. Cecilia Santiago proposed the installation of walk-through metal detectors at their school entrance and the conduct of random security inspections to help prevent prohibited or dangerous items from entering school premises.

Expressing the education sector's full support, Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Edgardo L. Camacho reaffirmed the Department of Education's commitment to working closely with the LGU in implementing comprehensive school safety initiatives. He emphasized that protecting learners is a shared responsibility that requires sustained collaboration among government agencies, school administrators, parents, and community partners.

Also present during the meeting were the district FPTA President, SB Member Gina C. Morales, BTL President, Sir Florencio Fernandez, PESPA President Dr. Lowell V. Fuentebella, Social Mobilization Coordinator, Madam Pamela G. Jorduela, and all Secondary School Principals of Bongabon, who actively participated in the discussions and contributed recommendations to strengthen the municipality's school safety framework.

The coordination meeting concluded with a unified commitment among all participating sectors to institutionalize proactive, sustainable, and collaborative safety and security measures. Through strengthened partnerships, systematic planning, and shared accountability, the Municipality of Bongabon reaffirmed its commitment to implementing preventive strategies, enhancing emergency preparedness, and fostering a culture of vigilance to ensure that every school remains a safe, secure, and resilient place for learning.
