Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on August 6, 2018, aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines. The valid proof of identity provided by the PhilSys shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions, and shall be a

social and economic platform that promotes seamless social service delivery and strengthens financial inclusion for both public and private services. As a foundational digital ID system, the PhilSys will transform how services are delivered in the Philippines, and accelerate our transition into a digital economy, including to enable presenceless, paperless, and cashless transactions.

Bringing Services Faster and Closer to Filipinos Through Mobile National ID Registration

In line with the Philippine Statistics Authority's commitment to making government services more accessible, the National ID Registration Team successfully conducted mobile registration activities in Barangay Baruk, Can-avid and Barangays Bungtod and Timala, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Through these on-site registration efforts, residents from remote and underserved communities were given the opportunity to register for the National ID without the need to travel long distances. The initiative reflects PSA's continuing commitment to ensuring that every Filipino has access to a trusted and inclusive national identification system.

A total of 98 individuals were successfully registered during the activity:
📍 Barangay Baruk, Can-avid – 32 registrants
📍 Barangay Bungtod, Guiuan – 34 registrants
📍 Barangay Timala, Guiuan – 32 registrants

The PSA remains steadfast in its mission of bringing National ID services closer to the people, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey toward a more inclusive and digitally empowered Philippines.

Ayon kay Melanie S. Balagapo ng Brgy. Mabuhay, Can-avid, Eastern Samar:

"Maraming beses ko na po siyang nagamit at tested ko na po ito na tinatanggap sa bangko, money remittance, at sa amin bilang barangay officials, ito rin ang nagpapatunay na may valid ID kami ang PhilSys."

Maraming salamat sa pagbabahagi ng inyong karanasan! Ang ganitong mga kwento ay nagpapatunay na ang National ID ay hindi lamang isang pagkakakilanlan kundi isang susi upang mas mapadali ang pag-access sa mga serbisyo ng pamahalaan at pribadong institusyon.

The National Identification Registration Team participated in the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Summit: “PhilHealth YAKAP para Malayo sa Sakit” organized by PhilHealth and held today, May 21, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium.

As part of the activity, the National Identification Registration Team catered to unregistered BHW participants for their registration to the National Identification System, bringing government services closer and making registration more accessible to our hardworking health workers.
