MILAN, ITALY — Butuan Coconut Products Inc. (BCPI), a dedicated MSME assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry Agusan del Norte, officially joins the Philippine Pavilion at TUTTOFOOD Milano 2026. Running from May 11 to 14, 2026, this event is recognized as a premier global B2B platform for the food and beverage industry.

Through the sponsorship of the DTI Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), BCPI is presenting its line of high-quality exports, including cold-process virgin coconut oil and innovative coconut water infused with mango and pineapple. This international exposure marks a significant milestone for the Agusan del Norte-based enterprise, highlighting the scalability and export-readiness of local coconut products in the European market.

Participation in TUTTOFOOD Milano allows BCPI to engage directly with international buyers, analyze global consumption trends, and solidify the reputation of Philippine coconut products on the world stage. What began as a simple act of learning soon grew into a life-changing journey for Mrs. Divina Yonson Argoncillo. In the community of P-10 Afga, Barangay Lower Olave, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, she discovered an opportunity that would not only shape her livelihood but also allow her to serve others through natural and health-based products.

Inspired by church-based trainings, Mrs. Argoncillo learned how to process herbal products such as turmeric tea, salabat, malunggay tea, ginger tea, turmeric powder, and herbal ointments. She practiced diligently, improving her skills and slowly building confidence in her craft.

Her determination was further strengthened when she became a beneficiary of programs from Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministry Inc. (BIHMI) and the government’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). Through these initiatives, she received additional training, technical support, and a livelihood grant—providing her with the resources and motivation to expand her venture.

With persistence and hard work, her products gained recognition and began selling successfully in various markets and product showcases. Over time, her small initiative evolved into a sustainable source of income for her family.

Today, Mrs. Argoncillo continues to grow Divine’s Herbal Product Manufacturing, promoting the value of natural, locally made products while inspiring others in her community. Her story proves that even the simplest beginnings, when nurtured with faith and perseverance, can lead to meaningful success.

The Negosyo Center Buenavista has successfully conducted its monthly price monitoring for essential goods in the municipality. This includes 4 basic necessities, prime commodities and 4 construction supplies stores.

The routine inspection, led by Negosyo Center Senior Business Counselor 𝐉𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐌. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧 and her dedicated team 𝐄𝐥𝐬𝐡𝐲𝐤𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐣𝐞𝐬 ensures that prices for basic necessities and prime commodities remain reasonable and within government-prescribed limits. DTI monitoring ensures that local businesses adhere to these guidelines and do not take advantage of consumers by charging excessively high prices.

“Buo ang bayad mo, dapat buo rin ang sukli mo.” 💰

Naranasan mo na bang nasabihan ng “wala pong barya”? Mukhang maliit na bagay, pero kapag paulit-ulit nangyayari, malaking abala na rin. Ang tamang sukli ay hindi pabor, kundi obligasyon ng bawat tindahan at karapatan ng bawat konsyumer.

Ayon sa Republic Act 10909 o No Shortchanging Act, bawal kulangin ang sukli ng mamimili kahit gaano pa kaliit ang halaga. Dagdag pa rito, ipinagbabawal din ang mapanlinlang na gawain sa pagbebenta sa ilalim ng Republic Act 7394 o Consumer Act of the Philippines.

Kaya be wise, check twice. Walang labis, walang kulang.
