𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗦 (Public and Private) and 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 on October 30, 2025, Thursday, 12nn onwards, by Mayor Julius Amos, through Executive Order No. 70, series of 2025. This is to allow government employees sufficient time to prepare for All Saints' day and All Souls' day.

However, agencies responsible for basic, vital and health services, preparedness and response duties must continue to remain operational to ensure continuity of essential government functions despite the declaration of work suspension.

We welcomed courtesy calls today from Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF-CAR) and the Municipal Agriculture Office with farmers from Tuba, Benguet.

In today’s flag ceremony, LGU Buguias received three plaques of recognition from the DILG for high functionality in governance, child protection, and disability affairs. The event also celebrated the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with Minamimaki, Nagano, Japan, formalizing a Sister City Program that bridges cultures and fosters mutual growth.

Buguias Confers with High Functionality Rating on Women, Children, and PWD Program Implementation

​Baguio City - The municipality of Buguias Committee against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) was presented with a plaque of recognition from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) after achieving a High Functionality rating during the 2024 functionality assessment. Moreover, Buguias received two more plaques of recognition for the high functionality of its Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and its Persons With Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).

​Mayor Julius Amos received the award along with Ms. Mory Paleng, OIC MLGOO and Mr. Abner Lawangen, MPDC.

​The Mayor expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the implementation of these programs, especially the past administration headed by now Board Member Ruben Tinda-an. He pointed out that the awards are manifestations of exemplary public service, hence, he encouraged all the offices to exert effort and innovate to further the delivery of public services.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Thirty-two farmers from Buguias received financial assistance from the Provincial Government of Benguet, in response to damages caused by Typhoons Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon.
With Mayor Julius Amos and MAO staff standing in solidarity, the assistance was released by Mr. Igualdo Guyon of the Provincial Treasury, supervised by Ma’am Corazon Pad-ay Ateo-an of Provincial Agriculture Office.

On October 17, 2025, a meaningful milestone in international camaraderie was marked as Mayor Yosh*to Arisaka of Minamimaki-mura, Nagano, Japan, and Mayor Julius Amos of Buguias, Benguet, Philippines, formally signed a Friendship City Relationship agreement. Held in the serene town of Minamimaki-mura, the signing ceremony celebrated shared values of peace, cultural exchange, and mutual development. At the heart of this partnership is a commitment to strengthen agriculture, the lifeblood of both municipalities, through collaboration, innovation, and friendship rooted in the soil they both cherish.

As part of the visit, the Buguias delegation shared a warm and touching reunion with fellow Benguet farmers who have made Minamimaki-mura their second home. It was a moment that beautifully captured the essence of community, resilience, and shared roots across borders.

On October 6, senior citizens from all barangays of Buguias participated in the SCOFAD Program, serving as municipal officials for a day and showcasing the enduring value of elder leadership. Elders from every barangay were given the chance to serve as municipal officials for a day, taking part in decision-making, community engagement, and ceremonial duties.
